We weren't great but we won, feels very much like Southampton.

Felt like Swansea prepared for our very predictable formation (which is flying) and once we changed it they couldn't adapt, maybe we should have a little earlier?

Sakho is boss, Can struggled badly he's in a bad run of form and Mig/Skrtel are brilliant as of late.

Controversial maybe, but does anyone feel Sturridge in place of Sterling makes us less mobile/flexible and also damages our pressing game at the moment?

Personally I miss Ibe, crazy considering he's fairly new to the squad but I think he's put in the best performances at RWB.

Massive win, I didn't fancy us today if I'm honest but we keep rolling on!

We we poor but they made us poor, they filled every space and Sakho and co had no one to pass to, they pinned us back and we had no answer - until we matched them up. So satisfying to see Brendan make such a decisive and match-winning change, his game management lately has been brilliant. We can't be amazing all the time. Mignolet kept us in it first half and we got in the dressing room and sorted it out. I think that's a great thing. The goal celebration was amazing too. This lot are a proper set of lads with a proper manager
This, I saw Carra's analysis at HT and wondered what Brendan would do, great job from Brendan.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Feels mental that we can go a goal up away from home and kill games completely dead! Wasnt that long ago that trash like Palace and co were belting goals galore past us. Mad! Godgers is god!!

For United I'd go back to Sterling up top and take Sturridge out. I can hardly believe I'm saying that but he's just not right yet.

Agree with all that, bar the last line as I was confident of a win.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I do think we have to start creating proper chances and quick. Eventually the luck will run out.

Now for Sunday. Absolute must win.
The luck was well against us at Old Trafford when we dominated the game but somehow lost and their goalie was voted MOTM having made no fewer than eight saves.

We will batter them at Anfield. The game will be over as a contest by half-time.

If Man U's luck holds out they'll finish about sixth. If not they'll be seventh.

They're really not very good at all

Loving it, really enjoyed that win. This was a top notch Swansea team, they tired because the likes of Ki, Sigurdson, Shelvey and Routledge can't play a pressing game for 90 minutes but they would have beaten most teams with this formation.

We were simply too good for them but that says more about us than them.

Joe Allen really was the Welsh Xavi tonight.

To keep it in perspective, Mignolet made one comfortable save and one excellent save. We weren't exactly under the cosh. In the second half we were well on top.

I think we had more possession, more shots on target and more corners than them, so it was a fully deserved win and very comfortable too. At no point did Swansea look like they'd win the game

I didn't think Swansea had 'busted' our system at any point. I thought we were playing like I feared we might after a long break: slugishly. We had many opportunities to 'bust their system' with the right pass but we seemed to miscontrol or mis-pass every 30 seconds. Most of it wasn't down to the pressure from Swansea, just carelessness.

But this was the perfect game and result we needed to get back to 100% for our weekend tussle. I'm expecting a whole new level of whoop assery.

Here's our record in all competitions since he changed the formation for that Old Trafford game:

Agreed, it wasn't a siege or anything but he was required to pull off one particularly good save and another good one so he's doing his job when needed (not to mention two or three tremendous punches). It's what you want - everyone contributing and doing their bit. I feel really happy about that sort of win tonight.

Mig just looks so commanding these days coming for crosses and set pieces. He is at ease with the backline & the backline are at ease with him. We've struck a great balance defensively... i can't quite believe the turn around to be honest.

All we need now is more goals.

I don't tend to do match threads (too busy watching football ) so dunno if it's been mentioned at all, but a word for Coutinho's work-rate. It is absolutely immense, closing down space and pressing the ball constantly and always aware of what's going on around him. He's always had that in him but it's a regular feature now, I think since he switched off at Old Trafford and let his runner score.

You don't see many player of his ilk - "luxury players", usually - prepared to graft as hard as he does off the ball. I ****in love the lad.

Sanchez, Cazorla, Sterling, Lallana, Fellaini , but yeah he is immense. Love the guy despite having a poor-ish game by his standards. He'll be right up for that Utd game now, can't wait.

I'm thinking more classic no.10s, which none of them are bar arguably Cazorla (even though he never, ever plays as a 10). Mata, Silva, Aimar...all those sorts. That's how I see Coutinho - the guile and the ingenuity, but also pace, mobility and work-rate that most of those sorts don't possess.
