I'd just like to add Jack Dunn really is a cracking player, I hope his next loan is one that gets him proper game time and noticed.

Well we played some fairly big teams last pre-season and we didn't exactly start well. I'm not convinced it makes that much difference to be honest.

I think games against lower opposition help in terms of getting to practice patterns of play during a game situation. It's all about fitness. Lose against one of the big teams, and we'd be on a bit of a downer mentally. Draw or lose against a small team, and we just write it off as fitness preparation or learning to play as a team, etc. As long as one or two of the games test us defensively, it's alright.

Besides, I want to play against the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich etc, in competitive European competition, not a pre-season friendly.

I'm not a fan of these silly 25,000 miles caravans trekking to the other side of the world at all. I'd much prefer an Emirates Cup or round robin tournament in Europe on good pitches against decent opposition against whom its possible to calibrate performances to a much better degree than some Aussie or Thai side.
