Obviously this year was out due to the ground work however I agree.

But its all about the money, money, money...........

Australia i have no problem with. Good weather conditions, good pitches and full stadia. Now going to the tropics is a far from ideal. And I'd rather see the team doing these sort of promotion tours at the end of a season. Play one or two games down there or the US and then have a normal pre-season in the Alps or somewhere far from the media spotlight.

It's tough one, on the one hand it would be easier for us to stay in Europe, short trips, on good pitches vs good opposition. But on the other hand, LFC is global and has a massive loyal fanbase all over the planet. Everyone deserves to get a chance to see their team play & although it's not ideal... IMO it has to be done.

And from a business perspective and growing the brand... it's absolutely essential.

I don't understand the growing the brand idea. Well I do in places like the states and Australia. But the Asian market is where all the knock off kits are made, why are they going to spend a fortune on the real deal? Going to Australia and seeing the stadiums full and the noise is great. I'm all for it. But I'd do the long tours on seasons where there was no world cup or Euros like this year. But id go earlier and try and get home and play some decent opposition where we can get the new signings involved. We spend fortunes on players transfers and wages and then tell the manager he has one game pre season to get them up to speed. If we made £10m abroad, not winning the first few games in the league could potentially cost us more if we miss Cl by a couple of points. At least we have got most if not all of our signings in earlier than normal. No mad last minute panics.

The tournament that was played in Melbourne this year was a decent competition & we should look at that next time maybe.

The teams included Real, City, Roma & ? So it would be a good hit out.

Did you watch any of those games? They were all played at half pace. The games against lesser opposition that get at you give the players a far greater work out IMO.

The two Aussie teams were a lot better than I expected. I thought the first team in particular pressed us well which was good, even if the 2nd team had a bit more quality, so I definitely think it was a worthwhile exercise.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I saw a bit of the Real v Roma match & the whole Real City match which wasn't a bad match to watch. Maybe a tournament with just Prem sides then?

And the Aussie season hasn't started yet either so they're probably not much further along with fitness

Is that this weekend as they are playing in a CL qualifier tonight.

                              Two games in two days?

Which will the first team play in? Assuming we'll want to put out as near to our first XI at one point?
