I think it's been an advantage for us to do business early, we'll have our team ready by week two which is good, not all teams can say that.

That's a fair point - I was mostly considering how early we did the buying but obviously doing it before the season and the close of the window does have real advantages.

Odd decision. What's the logic there?

Does anyone else think we're a little under-prepared for the start of the season? Not enough games and we haven't had our likely first XI play together even once before the first game. That seems less than ideal to me.
The Helsinki game is on an artificial surface - so it may be that we have decided to not to take any risks with quite a few of the big names.

If the surface is a potential issue we shouldn't be playing there at all.

Lovren & Skrtel again and no Sakho - if those two start for the Stoke game then any optimism I have for the season will be gone. Lovren's mistakes will cost us goals and ultimately points!

Really ****ing hope he's not persisting with this Lovren experiment. "If" he carries on from last season's form, he could very well be the man that gets Rodgers the sack.

Then again, he can't be any worse than last season. Anyways the CB pairing should be Skrtel/Sakho.. they looked excellent in their run together. You do get the feeling that Rodgers really doesn't fancy Sakho.

If we start Lovren first game of season I'll be getting back in my plane with the banner...

I mean, I'll be very disappointed.

Looks more and more likely to me that Skrtel and Lovren will start against Stoke
