This is one game I wouldn't want Lucas anywhere near. I'm sure he played in both our arse kickings last season, getting smashed at Arsenal and at stoke. Too slow and ponderous. Along with the away games at city and Chelsea, this game is up there with our hardest this season. They are quick and tricky to get close to. We have to try and score first. Rather than sit back, take the game to them. I predict a 3-0 defeat. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Tough game. Think Arsenal will dominate and control the midfield area. Lovren and Gomez are in for a torrid time.
        Another MASSIVE game

          No backtracking now pal....

As for the game, could go any way. They have the more settled team though having no new faces to bed in. I'd take a point.

totally agree. Their game is all about fast pace through the middle. Lovren and Skrtel are slow enough, I'd bring Lallana deep before I'd bring Lucas in. Wondering when this Allan kid will get a game...

At least my opinion is out there

Even though I don't like Brendan, and I don't have to know him personally btw to be allowed that opinion, as a manager I don't like him, I'm not expecting three points away to a good Arsenal team. I hope we wont see any baffling tactics or selections but three points is a big a ask.

Out of interest Weatherman, why don't you like Rodgers?
                Are we winning?

It may be totally irrational, but I built up gradually a dislike for him during last season, his comments in the press routinely annoy me, I feel he's the superficial loudmouth type. He tends to be arrogant when he's in a position to be so but it usually backfires, like comments about Spurs's spending, going for second early this year during our good run. His tactics and selections can be infuriating as well and I was really disappointed over his handling of Gerrard last season, there is probably more. I don't like him, I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is but I hope Liverpool does well, like I always do and have done.

I have to be consistent too, don't I?

Rodgers still has a lot to prove, so your assessment is fair until he wins us things.

"I feel he's the superficial loudmouth type" - he's a manager who discusses football whenever he can. He does this because he loves the game. Your 'irrational' dislike of his football discussion comes from opposing fans' views of him being a perceived **** therefore it slowly becomes your own opinion. The Spurs thing backfiring, etc, are all types of mistakes every single manager and pundit (and fan I may add) has made in the past.

"His tactics and selections can be infuriating" - So are LvG's, even the fans are shouting attack, attack, attack this early in the season. But none of them have any irrational dislike toward him. Pochettino at Spurs is another example.

"I was really disappointed over his handling of Gerrard last season" - If you mean he played Gerrard at all last season then I agree. Gerrard's insistence on playing every game last season was one of the biggest reasons we did not finish fourth last season. Rodgers was too KIND to him. Wish he wasn't but then I sound like a **** against our club legend. However, if you mean Rodgers didn't play Gerrard enough then I worry for your sanity.

I'm only replying to your post in detail because it accurately reflects what a lot of Liverpool fans irrational views of him are currently. Trying to address all those fans in this post.

No, I am perfectly capable of forming my own opinion. Look back through my posts, from day one I was sceptical, season two was brilliant and he seemed to be constantly learning from his mistakes, but season three, he seemed to do the same mistakes over and over. Other managers don't make the same comments as he does either. I dislike loudmouths in every other walk of life as well, I don't have to like him just because he's our clubs manager.

Maybe so, but I feel his philosophy, tactics whatever will not be successful at a big club, not using a DM, constantly playing Lovren, Gerrard was over-used and played in the wrong position IMO, always going back to the Swansea model of slow passing.

Gerrard could have been used differently, and less.

That's fine, but I feel you dismissing what I think and saying I'm just copying opinions from opposing fans which is BS.

We're the highest placed team that's only played two games in the league! Win by seven clear goals tomorrow and we can go top. A draw would be a great result at the Emirates, I'm hoping Lucas does play tomorrow he'll help us to control the midfield better. It's a pity we don't have Sturridge available for this game, I think his pace would trouble the Arsenal defence. I hope we don't lump the ball up to Benteke like we did against Stoke.

I wonder if well play 442 diamond then with Firminio supporting Benteke?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
