What is really, really disappointing is that those who wanted him gone, like me, did so because they all felt that no matter who he bought the same issues would persist into this season. He's thrown his staff under a bus to save his skin and he now has nowhere to hide.
1 shot on target today which was a 30 yard Lovren strike. We've invested £32m on a striker and we need to play to his strengths.

While we did gift them two goals, we also showed little to no creativity against a **** West Ham team who had a few players out anyway. Bilić seemed to outsmart Rodgers for me and his gameplay wasn't even complex or unpredictableOriginally posted by el matador View PostWe did gift them 2 goals. Yeah - real concerns with both of them. Both capable of howlers and lapses in concentration. As Chelsea also found out today, I don't think there are any easy games in this league so going into a season with 2 dodgy CB's is far from ideal.Originally posted by RichC View Post
Gave a two goal head start and just in case gifted a 3rd.
At least one of them has to be dropped, probably Lovren but I'd not be sorry to see both ditchedModifying post.

Totally agree. We seem to have no idea. What does Rodgers do in training? He's been going on about extra defensive drills too - wtf?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostWhat is really, really disappointing is that those who wanted him gone, like me, did so because they all felt that no matter who he bought the same issues would persist into this season. Yup. The time for change was last season, the issues that we have had for a long time are still evident.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostSticking by my desire to see the back of Rodgers. This was an abysmal display, especially when we have so many difficult away games, that the home games should be the points in the bank. Bournemouth was unconvincing and that was diabolical.
I also don't think Firmino is a Rodgers player - I worry we won't see the best of him in Brendan's preferred formation
No kneejerk, but I wish the owners would put this to bed and end this ****ing charade.
We were shipping goals even when we finished second, we now have none of Suarez, Sterling or Sturridge available... When we defend well we don't attack, when we attack we let goals in. These are coaching and selection issues. Worrying, let's hope Rodgers can insigate some fight because once we started losing last season - we didn't stop.Modifying post.

We had countless "individual mistakes" last season too. It's part of his job to coach - or employ people to coach- that outta the players.Originally posted by el matador View PostWe did gift them 2 goals. some serious faces, but lots of hugs and giggles. then some time to recalculate the fantasy table tennis league.Originally posted by baronvonskidmark View PostWhat does Rodgers do in training?removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

My main gripe with him today is that he got the wrong tactics at the start of the second half. The two mistakes were individual errors but amends could have been made to allow us to get at West Ham more in the second half. We had no answer.Originally posted by el matador View PostWe did gift them 2 goals. They were individual mistakes and you cant blame Rodgers for that. They set up with a midfield diamond and that leaves plenty of space out wide in midfield to attack. Coutinho and firmino want to play inside. Gomes started on the left which meant he wont offer anything going forward which leaves only clyne as someone to provide the width.Originally posted by baronvonskidmark View PostWhile we did gift them two goals, we also showed little to no creativity against a **** West Ham team who had a few players out anyway. West ham loaded up their left hand side and left their right hand side fairly open. We played right into their game plan.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Very hard to coach mistakes out of players. They happen by accident unless skrtel is trying to get Rodgers sacked.Originally posted by Plod View PostWe had countless "individual mistakes" last season too.
