Uh, What ?? Suarez and Sturridge were used perfectly IIRC or perhaps the dozens of goals those two scored with BR as manager was just a dream I had. Aspas, Borini, Carroll, Lambert and Balotelli all failed here because they were absolute ****ing ****, every single one of them, it had very little to do with how they were used by the manager.

Perhaps I put it over incorrectly. My point was is that under Rodgers we have had big target men before and the team was never setup to their strengths. Suarez and Sturbridge were perfect for the system Rodgers uses which is why they were so good. My point is what is the point of buying Benteke if we are not going to play to his strengths? He looks isolated up front on his own.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostUh, What ?? I don't know why BR wanted Benteke, you would think the 13/14 season would have demonstrated to the manager that fast, mobile, intelligent strikers are what we need. But he clearly hasn't learnt this because since Suarez left we've signed Lambert, Balotelli and Benteke.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostPerhaps I put it over incorrectly. I think going into the game we could have gone with a more attacking lineup than we did away at Arsenal, as it was he went with the same side. What I don't understand is having gone with the same side that played Arsenal, why take away the pressing that made this side so effective against Arsenal. Rodgers sides seem to do well when they press the opposition, when his sides don't press the opposition they don't seem to have anything just a bland, ineptitude. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We could and probably should have gone with a more attacking line-up.

Were you in the Paddock? Think I saw you on tele. Probably the highlight of the game in all honesty.Originally posted by Liverpool View Postatmosphere was absolutely poison
never heard so much aggression at a player than lovren after that goal, even felt sorry for him

I can't help but wonder if the poor performance today was because we underestimated them somewhat - all the talk of the difficult away games, this one should have been a home banker and you wonder if the players thought that this, the alternative is that there is something systematically wrong with the setup of the side. I'm not sure which would be worse to be honest. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Gomez was just asleep for their opener & the real Lovren showed up today, like so many of us feared / knew that he would eventually.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI can't help but wonder if the poor performance today was because we underestimated them somewhat - all the talk of the difficult away games, this one should have been a home banker and you wonder if the players thought that this, the alternative is that there is something systematically wrong with the setup of the side. Shares responsibility alright, but Clyne was extremely poor in recognising the danger. Gomez was just caught off guard, but it happens - I'm more concerned with the CB not getting direction on a headed clearance (yeah it was defensive, but still) and the RB dropping short into the middle.
That was amateur."I will make the boys feel your support"
