Losing 2-0 at half time but Rodgers decides to bring on another defender against a team that had one up front and wanted to sit back . Tactical genius! Truth be told the previous results were papering over the cracks. There is also a distinct lack of pace in our side now and it is something I mentioned when we sold Sterling. Now Markovic is going and we only really have the inexperienced Ibe. There was no width yesterday, **** movement (Benteke was guilty of this and I'm a fan of his before anyone jumps on my back), everything was going through the middle. It was so bloody predictable. I was at the game and I was very surprised to see so many people leave 10 mins before the end. It says it all really. Pressure is back on Rodgers and reading around the forums it's pretty clear to me many fans still don't think he will see out the season.
we were so narrow. Too many similar players that play centrally but very few quality wide players that can stretch the game down the channels. We bigged Ibe up too much, Markovic is gone on loan & Lallana has been poor and is always injured. Our system seems to rely on our fullbacks getting up and down the wings to give us width. Clyne is a good defender but not great going forward & Gomez is a CB playing at LB. He was great in the first 3 games just sitting but it did seem yesterday he was told to be more progressive & he looked lost.

I just don't know what Rodgers is trying to do. I was very positive before the game and even though we were lucky vs Stoke & Bournemouth. I thought at least we got the points, but the same old stuff is happening again and again.

          Honestly, it's not.
If Skrtel clears the header properly Clyne and Gomez don't have to get him out of the ****.
I guarantee you both that when Carragher and Neville analyse the goal they'll say Skrtel should have done better with the header.
If he does his job properly nothing else matters
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I prefer it when posters question Rodgers and his ability through debate. These pictures with old quotes are just a bit naff.

Henderson was a massive miss yesterday, he controls the middle of the park better and frees up attacking players to get forward and make runs. Felt sorry for Benteke... Apart from a stupid haircut, he looked very Mario-esque with no service and could do nothing about it. We bought him to harass defenders but Rodgers isn't setting up the team to do that... Beggars belief.

I prefer it when LFC win convincingly but that's life

But if we'd won 3-0 this thread would be a quarter of the length it is
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yes I was there at that game -at least then West Ham had a class side!!

For me, the individual mistakes were one thing but the main issue yesterday was the whole team seemed to have no clue how they wanted to play. Pass pass pass pass....then out to joe Gomez on the left hand side who had to cut back inside on his right foot before he could cross it.

Firmino and Coutinho both seemed to be playing the same position and just told to play the free role wherever they liked...... Milner and Emre Can didn't seem to know whether to attack or defend and it was pathetic how west ham could just run through our midfield when it contained Milner can and Lucas.

The tactics were terrible. When you consider that west ham played 11 men behind the ball then why play Lucas as well as the other 2? So we had Lovren walking the ball to the halfway line and if he didn't try his embarrassing stepover, then he would play a 5 yard ball to Lucas....under zero pressure. It was so naive tactically and we did the job of nullifying liverpool for them.....

Very frustrating. That is the worse I have seen a liverpool team....

The Lucas inclusion was certainly unnecessary.

I've seen far worse Liverpool teams though

Yeah I've seen worse as well......I meant at anfield (was at the game)....

To be honest, we could still be playing out there and not have a goal on the board

It's not like he had all the time in the world to get that header away & that he was perfectly positioned to do so either. I get what your saying but it's not the reason the goal was scored. If Gomez was awake it's not a goal.
