Good team that and let's hope it's true. I'm surprised Sturridge will start due to lac k of match fitness . Thought he would be on the bench.

Suddenly Dans back and we are changing formation again? Yet play 3421 in midweek? This is all getting ****ing stupid.
It makes no sense - Rodgers really doesn't seem to help himself.

That team (although exciting ) has no width whatsoever. Could we sacrifice Can for Lallana or Firmino?

The width will/should/could come from the fullbacks.

That's a death or glory team selection if ever I saw one.

Lots of fascinating aspects though (Sturridge/Big Chris partnership) but you wonder how the players cope with literally a new formation every game. Attacking as **** though. I predict a 9 goal thriller.

If the fullbacks are pushing forward to provide width we could easily be left exposed at the back. Also I am not sure they will provide the kind of width we need.

Well Moreno would provide a much better option going forward than Gomez, but yeah he can't defend for ****. Clyne doesn't get forward as much as he should with the attributes he has.

If it was his intention to play two up top with Benteke & Sturridge, which seems logical. Why has he persisted with Benteke in an isolated role upfront when we have a perfectly good partner in Ings?

If true and he is starting with Sturridge from scratch, it stinks of desperation. Is he listening to the cries of the fans all of a sudden when he has finally realised his setup is all wrong?

                        Baffling.
I think the Arsenal game showed what the formation/tactics could do. The Henderson injury and Can's comparatively poor start to the season are influential too.

More or less every season since Rodgers has been here he has started with a more defensive setup than the one he seems to want to evolve to use for the majority of the season. Given the class gap between Ings and Sturridge you can see why he wouldn't have favoured deviated from that. Especially as defending was one thing we would all agree we needed to fix.

You'd like to think so wouldn't you? I mean it would suggest we are at least attacking if we are leaving ourselves exposed? You just need one to bomb on and then someone to drop in and cover him. It's a judgement call when they make their move. If you attack teams you will leave spaces. Be brilliant if we went gung ho again.

benteke will start with wings and studge will come on later.

Its the 3 at the back in the 2nd half v WHU that i still cant get my head around. 3 at the back - with lucas sitting in front of them - against a team that was just sitting back on a 2 goal lead anyway!!!

I hope to see the diamond today. Assuming the team is right and lovren is dropped, then that is one right choice anyway....

If we get a good win and both sturridge and benteke could both score / look like a good formation could be formed; then we will all have big optimism tonight.

Also, if that were to happy, the only downside will be the encyclopedia of an article that tomkins will write detailing how we can only play 2 up front if sturridge is part of that two...

That team Damien posted is correct from my knowledge. He's a **** for posting it all over Twitter though.

I know that's pot calling kettle mind.
