But what a win it wasOriginally posted by Exiled_red View Post1 win in our last 8 games in all competitions

****ing Villa - who are just even more **** than us. Plus we took their 'best; player from them.
Its an unusual atmosphere between Liverpool supporters right now. There isn't the anger that we had with Roy. Maybe we have become accustomed to our new place in the pecking order already?Modifying post.

A win against the mighty Villa whom have lost 5 from 7 league games this season.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostBut what a win it was

A draw against Sion who came 7th last year and are currently 5th in the Swiss league and are currently a laughing stock in Switzerland based on a loss to a relegation fodder team on the weekend.
A draw against Carlisle who were 10th in League 2 at the time and rested half their team including their star striker.
A draw against newly promoted Norwich, a team with pretty much zero quality.
Stuff of Champions.Forwards.......

That's dreadful. You look at this game in isolation and you think europa league, I can see players being rested etc, but then I remember the champions league against real Madrid when we effectively pulled down our shorts and bent over.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post1 win in our last 8 games in all competitions
If we had realistic chances of winning the league or won it last season, then I could see a case for resting players for a second rate competition, but we need to win something fast, to build belief and confidence. We need to win again to establish our position again as one of the top sides.
I dont know what brendan is actually trying to protect, be it back against real Madrid, or tonight again sion. He needs to just ****ing go for it now, the careful, considered approach isnt working and time is running out.SakhoPotatoes

I actually think Brendan is right... there is a media conspiracy.
But it is one to keep him in his job.
Some of these stats are astonishing, and pretty much any other manager they'd be all over the press and SKY. But its all this give him a chance chat, without anyone pointing out the ****ing mire we are in... This has been going 4 years now. And we've got a nearly won the league rosette and a cup semi final loss to Villa to show for it.Modifying post.

Not when the money spent has been covered by selling your best players. Our net spend the past two summer's is pathetic for a club our size.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostIf they were that bothered about the balance sheet they'd have sacked everyone who had a say on that transfer committee.

Money coming in is one thing, money going out is another. No matter the income you still want value for money spent.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostNot when the money spent has been covered by selling your best players.
