I don't really see what was wrong with that interview. Pretty much said where we are failing. He should just avoid them now anyway.
        Are we winning?

If we had realistic chances of winning the league or won it last season, then I could see a case for resting players for a second rate competition, but we need to win something fast, to build belief and confidence. We need to win again to establish our position again as one of the top sides.

I dont know what brendan is actually trying to protect, be it back against real Madrid, or tonight again sion. He needs to just ****ing go for it now, the careful, considered approach isnt working and time is running out.
I was thinking last night am I being overly harsh, this was a 2nd string side etc. But looking at it the side that started that game cost about £90m, it wasn't a bad side and with all due respect it shold have been capable of beating Sion, a side who have lost their last 5 games in Europe conceding 20 goals. BUt it's not just about this game, our form has been terrible, 1 win in 8 in all competitions shows that there is something fundamentally wrong.

We have had a net spend of ~£50m over the last two seasons, which is in line with what we could have expected from FSG's intention to stick to FFP.

For me before we start complaining about how much we are given to spend we need to spend what we have wisely. Rodgers has spent ~£300m in his time here and a significant amount of that has been wasted: Lovren £20m, Balotelli £16m, Markovic £20m, Lallana £25m, Borini £10m etc

I'm sure that no one from the club or FSG read or take notice of these forums so the only real way for them to do something is for fans to vote with their feet and stay away from the next home game.

I can't get my head around the thinking behind the team selection and approach to the game. Football is all about form and momentum, we got the first win Saturday, scored more than one, have a huge Derby next. So why on earth do you do that and put even more pressure on the team. I know everyone's expectations were lowered when we started the season with Lovren still in place at the back, but surely the squad deserves better than this. It is like Bodge in the way that every opponent is overated. Football can be great entertainment hen your team is trying to win, but I'm reaching the point where watching a game is the worst thing I do in a day.

Theres a film called The Room.

Its the worst movie of all time and I've watched it at least 15 times i reckon. Its hilarious.

You think singling out an 18 year old kid for making a mistake as "nothing wrong?" You think saying it's another rebuilding job (despite spending over £200m) as "nothing wrong?"

I think Rodgers has probably had enough too. The comment about giving him the tools and last night again about it being a rebuilding job tells you that he has probably got to a point where wants to be put out of his misery and walk away with final a payday.

We were pretty poor but had plenty of chances to out that game to bed.

I couldn't believe the amount of fans disappearing well before the final whistle when the result was in the balance. Right behind Rodgers it was like an exodus of people. As a manager you know you've lost some of the fans when you see stuff like that.

Some of the regulars sat in front of me also just got up and walked out with 10 to go. The atmosphere was flat but credit to the sion fans they kept going all night.

Its a shame henry wasn't there last night because if he was then Rodgers wouldn't be right now.

F*ck me.... "It's a rebuilding job again" ... jesus, what a trow away comment right at the end, didnt even get challenged by the interviewer, they should have been all over it.

You have to be kidding me, £300m spent and he says we got to rebuild???

This guy is an absolute fraud, no other word for it. Four years in and we have a team that just does not have any shape, confidence, or performances in it.

Klopp and Ancelotti wont be available forever, and there are those already looking for Wenger to be replaced with one of them. If we dont move for Klopp now, we will end up with another Bodge job. (Bodgeson, then Bodgers.... who's next??)

Yes, the tie is over, but we have to play them anyway."

One thing I don't understand is if we win these two games with a stronger team then we are basically qualified for the next phase and this then gives the manager scope to play younger players under less pressure in the final three games.

Also people like Coutinho and Moreno surely want to play European games to gain experience. It is not like our first team players have a wealth of knowledge and played in 100 European games so a rest in September does them good.

In the 25 minutes I watched I saw Origi completely fluff a one on one which looked like a confidence issue and lallana kicked straight at the keeper after a nice move. Those two would normally result in a goal, is that the managers fault they fluffed their lines? Over the last 25 years I've seen us struggle to put away poor opponents in European competition, including under bentitez. The atmosphere is usually flat and the team is usually second string and the thing is going through the motions. I think many, probably understandably given our run of form, but are over analyzing last night's game. We created enough to win. The players have to learn how to finish, a manager can't do it for them.
