Just have to say I'm happily surprised to see us linked with Ancelotti & Klopp. I didn't realistically expect we'd have a chance with either. I'm guessing most others couldn't, in particular rival fans so I can just imagine the fume

Even more amazing is we are getting the dream appointment that everyone wants. Every backer of Rodgers, even when the team was basically in flames & crumbling to ashes had one solitary argument left, that being if we let Rodgers go what were we letting ourselves in for? Out of the frying pan & into the fire with an even less experienced coach than Brendan?

Even the most ardent opposers to the sacking of Rodgers have to accept at this stage that letting him go was the right decision if we land Klopp.

The timing was crucial IMO. I'd say we did talk to Klopp in June/ July but was told he needed a break. We could have sacked Rodgers then & appointed whoever was available but we've decided to wait on Jurgen & give Rodgers a bit of time to show improvement. That hasn't happened & Klopp has had a mini break. If we waited too long Chelsea & to a lesser degree United had the chance to nick in if their results didn't go well. Even City if their form remained wayward could have nipped in. If we waited too long this season could have become a write off & it probably is, but we've still got the Cups to focus on at the very least. There's time to assess the squad before the TW reopens so it's all in place for an interesting journey.

I couldn't be happier once I see he's signed.
