Fast paced half just lacked that bit of quality/composure up front.

Still issues at the back but no real shock with so little time with the team

Good first half that and you can see what klopp has instructed the players to do. Just need that break in front of goal.

Apart from the 3 vital clearances he's made I'm the last 10 mins. One mistake in the first half and that was the miscommunication with Clyne. Hopefully can keep it up in second half.

He had far more than one communication error in that half.

It's always the same with Skrtel, good with the last ditch stuff but too many silly errors and constant backing off

Pleased with that 1st half. We bossed them early & they've got back into it. I hope our fitness can handle this type of pressing for the full 90+ mins.

I've been very impressed by that. With the first half against Arsenal, that's the best we've played all season as a team. Hats off to Klopp.

Only a few mistakes though and Skrtel is a weak link.

All I wanted were some signs and we defo got them. Spurs were a panic stricken mess for the first 20 and couldnt get in our half. Just a shame pretty much our whole attack is not on the ****ing pitch so its hard to take advantage. Skrtel played the latter part of the half like he'd had a huge bet on Spurs to be winning at half time! Can is god. Origi is god.

You're wrong about Skrtel there Chris, he's been "outstanding"

Nah mate, credit where it's due. He had a great first half. He does back off too much but he's a good CB. His partnership with Sakho will get much better the more they play together. Clyne and Moreno are pushing up a lot today too, CBs arw having to pull out that bit more.

skrtel has been awful against kane a few times but brilliant at other times. new cb needed i think, he isn't get any younger either. seemed to run out of steam for a while there. halftime should give us a much needed break and rekloppening.

He was backing into Skrtel all that's needed is a bit of strength to get alongside him.

I don't think Skrtels had a terrible half minus the silly mistakes but in that situation there as a big strong defender he should be taking control

In that particular incident though the ball is clearly under Kane's control. He's a tough competitor at holding the ball.....a defender cannot go through him, as much as we say ' oh, let's show some strength' it'll inevtiably lead to a foul. Best you can do is hold up the player and allow time for you teammates to pick up any off runner.
If the ball is in the air, I'd always hope for the CB's positioning to win through.

A right sided centre back would be a priority in January for me. Skrtel has been good in patches but still error prone.
