Personally I don't see how anyone could have thought skrtel had an outstanding game and Can a **** one.

If anything it was the reverse.

Skrtel did ok against a very physical & mobile Harry Kane but a long way off being outstanding. Can was immense IMO.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I thought Can was excellent today. Lallana apart from that **** pass to Skrtel was also very good, absolutely everywhere.

            Sakho was great.

Spurs had some really good chances and Mignolet pulled off some great saves.

Both back fours looked pretty solid.

Both teams lacked that bit of world class quality

Dembele and Alli were really good. Especially Alli who looks like he has played in the league years.

Both teams have a solid base to move forward from it will all be down to coaching and injuries for 5th and 6th.

Not so sure on Dele Alli myself, but agree with the rest. Hard work personified by both teams, but a distinct lack of quality.

Quite a few seasons Man Utd won the league based on that quality in the final third. They tended to be a bit average elsewhere on the park & suffered in Europe for it. But killed teams of lesser quality in the league.

To me, both sides looked like they were competing for 5th/6th. Fairness to us, we can point to missing a host of top quality attacking players. Tottenham just missed their engine, which I think in Dembele they coped admirably without.
              Forwards.......

                Ali is a player.

I said the same about it being 5th v 6th and both teams needing a monumental **** up from the top 4 to get in.

Yea I don't think either extreme is correct but I think if you had to say who could be more satisfied with their own game it'd be Can.

Skrtel recovered well from a shaky first half.

Considering we have Benteke, Frimino, Henderson and Sturridge to back into this team, that was awesome. Best defensive performance since Rafa, extraordinary pressing. Loved it.

We were very good for the first 20 minutes. We just need better end product. The pressing game will take care of the rest.

I was impressed by that yesterday and felt it strange that we never could replicate that under Rodgers this season, bar the first half vs Arsenal.
                        Are we winning?

I think the game of football is a lot more sophisticated than what we see each game there is subtly in the execution of certain strategies, especially the pressing game, the face that he requires his players to run and run and run till basically the have nothing left can only help them fit into this strategy, take the decision making out of there hands ... run your bollix off .. hunt in packs .. show me you want it more every single game
                          Love it

Think Rodgers was never sure of his methods and so always gave different instructions. One game he'd want us pressing all over the pitch, another he'd want us to drop deep & keep shape. Didn't even seem dependant on the quality of opposition.

Jepp, rodgers ended up being a walking contadiction. When he first came to us he had a clear vision. After coming second the vision became very blurred to the point in the end he didnt really have a clue what to do

Kane will make plenty of defenders look a bit ordinary at times this season.

Can covered so much of the pitch yesterday & was still running hard at the end.
