Rubin Kazan (H) - Post Match

    Play the game lads.

Toothless up front, we saw exactly what a proper striker can do when Benteke came on.

Was really impressed with Lallana and Can both were excellent.

Sahko too but thays to be expected to be honest.

We need to be better, and we still are making some defensive mistakes,

Although Clyne was the wrong side of the man. Their goal was sublime. A fantastic ball in, controlled and finished in Suarezesque style

        Klopp out
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

It's like we don't know what to do when we get to the opposition box. No composure, no decisiveness, all seems a bit rushed.

I don't think we know what to do with possession in general, we're poor at seeing games out keeping the ball too (long time since we've been in the position too)

I've got two issues with our set pieces, particularly our corners:

              1) Why can't anyone put the ball into a decent area
              2) Why does nobody run from the edge of the box, it seems like most of our players are static or only move a couple of yards semi expecting the ball not to get to them.

Looks like he has quite a job reprogramming some of the habits that have developed over the last 18 months, there's a malaise in the club that is going to take time to sort out. Who better to inspire them than this fella though?

I was sat pretty much behind him, he's great - far more interesting than the actual game

Sakho was brilliant - how the **** did the last manager rate Lovren over him? Its absolutely stupefying.

Not much of a match tbh, but these are the first awkward steps.

What's always confused my about corners is that I could whip that in without hitting the first man.

I think 4 different players had a go tonight and not one good delivery. I thought Gerrards were bad

Milner, Lallana, Allen, Skittles & Benteke are all to varying degrees not good enough. Maybe Klopp can work his magic with them, but lets be honest, he's got a big job on his hands and the squad probably needs a big overhaul. We're just not clever or technically good enough on the ball.

These are the beige, ordinary, bland players Rodgers filled the squad with. Hopefully he's seen through Allen's little weak boy act. Skrtel hasn't got long left, he's 31 and has never improved.

It's crazy to think the squad seems so weak, and lacking in depth given the cash we've blown. Where did it all go?

Klopp needs time for sure. Anything he achieves this season is a bonus, and a step forward from where we were headed. Expectation begins next season.

Here's a fun fact - for the first time since 14/02/15 (Palace in the cup) Liverpool conceded the first goal but didn't lose. 32 games. Progress.

As I said in the Klopp Style Guide thread - they are not thinking and acting quickly enough, the ball is being won back quickly enough but in possession you can nearly sense various brains cranking through the gears trying to find top, when Firmino came on you could see that he was looking to move the ball on very quickly albeit with mixed results. They'll be a lot of hard training sessions to come on this aspect I'm sure.

I'm sure that's meant to be a warming stat but it doesn't half make the heart sink
