Ings is only a significant loss because sturridge and Benteke have also been injured.

Well yeah, but he was just building up a head of steam and showing potential. He looked a better option than Origi.

Not being pedantic. Benteke and Firmino are back and Sturridge hasn't played much for over a year.

Benteke and Firmino are brand new to the club and just back from injury. To dismiss the importance of incumbents and the stability they offer is ridiculous

I see Clyne mentioning in the Echo he thought their guy would be offside but Marty ruined it with how deep he was. Will be nice to have a defence in tune with each other one day! Marty's style will be fine for Stoke or West Brom but we have 3 other defenders who want to go up the pitch not backwards!

Not dismissing them at all. Who are the incumbents that offer us stability that we are missing? Henderson? Then who? Sturridge has been missing for over a year.

Our players are being asked being asked to do more technically, tactically and physically since Klopp took charge. So early doors we should expect the players to not be great on the ball, to be confused about what they're supposed to be doing in defence and especially in attack and finally to look knackered on match days because of the additional physical work they're doing in training.

We've seen all of that in the past couple of gsmrs and yet still were picking up points. Thursday was disappointing because of the result but not because of the work rate, quality etc... but there were plenty of positives that we are headed in the right direction.

As for injuries, Henderson, Sturridge, firmino, benteke, Ings, Gomes and Lovren is a pretty big list. Neither benteke nor firmino looked fit enough on Thursday.

It will get better and pretty quickly.

So Sturridge isn't important to Liverpool's first 11? A world class striker missing doesn't count? Jesus, I shouldn't even need to post that, or allow myself to rise to the absolute **** you post

FFS, I haven't said he isn't, but he hasn't figured a lot over the last year. Why would this not count under a Rodgers' regime, but count at present?

                              You are a little.

We've lost Gomez (established himself as a starter) and Ings (player of the month and playing really well) for the rest of the season. The club captain has been out pretty much the entire season, our best player has been out for almost 12 months and is returning to fitness, picking up another injury, our two massive summer signings have been out for the last few weeks, and are returning to full match fitness. Its pretty much half a starting 11 since he's been here. It completely depends on what your definition of horrendous is.

Its not horrendous in the same sense that a plane crash is no, but in the microcosm of professional football, not having half the squad available is pretty bad luck

Edit: Before you jump on the specifics of that last bit, not bad luck, maybe simply not ideal.

Maybe your point wasn't very well expressed. The point is Sturridge is a miss to any squad, regardless of how long he has been out.
