We beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a game they had to win ... I am officiallyOriginally posted by foresterbloke View PostI'm as happy as anyone but let's not get carried away with the result. We're definitely improving and we'd be drawing that if Rodgers was still here.

irishexaminer spot on:
The goal displayed everything you already knew about Mourinho’s Chelsea. Happy to waste 30 seconds of injury time taking a free kick, but when the referee adds it on?
Conspiracy!
Ten more years of crying about ghost injury time. Happy to watch Costa chop Skrtel to the ground and kick him in the chest for good measure, yet when Lucas commits a much lesser offence who’s leading the orchestrated blue mob baying for his blood? Yep, Costa.
Conspiracy!
Let’s all laugh loudas ‘Dirty Diego’ does his dastardly deeds, but when there’s subsequent punishment?
Conspiracy!
And this is great:
Costa is his [Mourinho] pitch manifestation: brilliant, petulant, snide and two-faced. The perpetual bully who constantly whines about being picked on. Staggering in its deceit, an almost-admirable chutzpah, irritating when it comes off and hilarious when it fails, all backed up by fans who sing “it’s never your fault” at us without a shred of self-awareness.

Yeah but that's different. In that context we could have been managed by Hodgson and still have been happy. I'm talking about the performance against a team that's clearly not playing for their manager.Originally posted by Nicey View PostWe beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a game they had to win ... I'm still ecstatic over the result and the way we came from behind to win emphatically. Was muß, das muß.

Fair play to Skrtel for not rising to the bait
Is he though? I don't think he's all that tbh

Absolutely spot on.Originally posted by DeanoUK View Post
It's a shame that everyone is going on about Chelsea, Mourinho, our first goal and the Lucas challenge etc.
We played them off the park and it was probably our best performance since the Spurs game last year, yet it's been completely overlooked due to the circus act that is Chelsea.

We beat a team of world class players.
We scored more than one goal for the first time in 6 months.
We came from behind to win for the first time in nearly 1 year.
We've got our first league win under Klopp.
We made it 11 games unbeaten.
Plenty of reasons to get carried away IMO.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I guess I'm worried about getting carried away. It sounds good but then we could **** it all up against Palace.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWe beat a team of world class players.

I'm looking for subsequent signs of improvement that build against this performance. Validation that it wasn't a day where the stars aligned but it was truly down to a great performance built on Klopp's coaching and the players knowing what to do.Was muß, das muß.

Well I want the players to get carried away and to go out thinking they can put 5 past Palace rather than having that lingering doubt that if we go a goal down we won't come back or if we get a 1 goal lead we'll be unlikely to hang on for the win.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI guess I'm worried about getting carried away. Even if Chelsea had of played with no keeper and gifted us 3 goals, I still think the psychological boost of scoring 3 and coming from behind would still be massive for us.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
