But hey I reminded of that run we went on under Brendan ... fans lining the streets or during Rafa's tenure ... its there it is broken but it can be fixed

The good: Energy/general zest of the team, heads didn't drop after conceding, some decent creativity to put Palace under the cosh for long stretches, defensive solidity (as a unit), Ibe looks reborn

The bad: Too many chances went abegging (much credit due to Palace defence but equally, a lot due to wastefulness in front of goal), individually the defending was sloppy and naive at times (Moreno, Can especially and wtf was Ibe doing with that backheel into the box from his own endline???)

Overall though, it's clear we're moving in the right direction again. I'm still pretty happy with how things are going at the moment. If Klopp can iron out a few more little kinks we have a decent run of games coming after City and hopefully we can build momentum, because a lot of the top teams look to have the potential to drop points this season.

Agreed .. Palace are a very good side well managed who seem to have the Whodoo on us, if any team was going to beat us .. it was a fresh rest palace side after we have flown back from a Thursday night game in **** knows russia

Lessons learnt ... one thing for me ... Lovern continues to be and out and out mistake, I would get rid next summer unless he turns it around spectacularly

Can't believe we lost this. ****ing Pardew

100% honestly believe with another days rest we would have won (or drew ). That's what it comes down to for me really.

          ****ing Scott Dann remember him?

Anyway, how come we randomly unnecessarily have games on Monday nights but when we actually need a game on Monday (to even things up, fitness wise), it doesn't happen? Of course, Palace would never agree to moving the game a day later and were probably salivating at the prospect of catching us undercooked. This is were the FA need to use common sense.

Anyway, this loss is not at all reminiscent of the Rodgers era as at least we ****ing won the game on Thursday.

What I liked most from this loss was the following:
            1. The Manager seemed to have a crystal clear idea of why we lost and how to fix it
            2. The Manager has vocalised what a lot of people have said on forums for a long time, elements of the support are a ****ing Embarrassment to the club and should **** off or put a little more effort in
            3. Considering all we had to put up with, the effort level for large parts of that game was excellent
            4. Putting a postive spin on things, we got our first loss under Klopp, its an international break, hopefully he will have time to work on things and we can come out of these Internationals Unscaved for once

                Happy with Klopps attitude
Happy with some of that performance considering the schedule not just this week but over the last 4 weeks

yeah been saying this for awhile myself. Whereas the saying, jack of all trades master of none sounds a bit harsh... it's quite true at this stage of Cans career IMO. Nobody, even Can himself seems to know what type of player he is.

I haven't been impressed with Can to be honest. He works his ass off which is great but in possession he doesn't dominate the ball, he's clearly not a DM as his defensive positioning isn't great, he doesn't score goals or seem the type of player to create lots of assists. It's a strange one alright and in our current side I just don't think he is excelling at anything.

We have too many all rounders in our midfield.

Totally agree...it pisses me off watching a game & people are streaming out behind JK - its a nightmare trying to get tickets & if you do get 1 , then at least stay to the end and support your team!!!

I think Can will come good - like Henderson has - I just don't know in what role it'll be cos I can't work him out.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Can hasn't played in the midfield role for us that long. He'll need time to learn the position, something of which we are lacking at the moment. The German U21 coach and Low were told he'd be playing in Gerrard's position this year. That appeared to be Rodgers' intention, but as we saw, he never went with it.

Can is clearly the new Lothar Matthäus, nothing to worry about. :cigar:

Surprised nobody hasnt had a pop at Mignolet

I thought he was utter ****e all game from the first minute to the last

I have never seen a keeper whose distribution is as bad as his. He set the tone from the first minute with his suicidal pass to Sakho (or was it Moreno). Then he went through his normal routine where he gets the ball has players in space to give it to early but fannies around with it by which time every man and his dog is now in position and ready to press his inevitable short ball to one of our now marked centrehalves. Also whe Sakho got injured and he came back on you would think that maybe we want to give him time to settle and see how his injury is but the first thing Mignolet does is pass it to him under pressure.

I also thought he should have done much better for their goal. When I was at the match I thought he should have pushed it diagonally out from him but after seeing the highlights I think he should have caught the initial header

Yeah he was notably bad. I'd even like to see Bogdan get a run.

I expect us to sign a goalkeeper anyway.

It's no surprise that three areas which we need are the ones we're rumoured to look to fill first of all - GK, DM and LW.
