The pass to Sakho once he had come back on to test out his injury was a joke. Instantly put him under pressure making him have to sprint and turn.

He is a good shot stopper (a bare minimum requirement surely) but I think we need a calmer head back there. He reminds me of Westerveld, capable of the odd good game and match winning save, but not quite good enough.
    Modifying post.

If the (****ely sourced) rumours that we are in for Ter Stegen were true, then that would add 5 to 10 points a season.....

For me, Alberto Moreno needs a degree in defending as well. He just gives no ****in sense of security down that wing. If he ever has a hammy injury then i think he is finished as a footballer because it is all about his pace. If Flanagan can actually get back fit, then i think he still has a chance of being a LFC first team regular (which is nuts, normally at a club our size and with a player so young and injury prone as him then he'd be at a Wigan athletic by now!)

I'm not convinced hes even that good a shot-stopper

Their 2nd goal he should have held the first header imo

The first goal was very similar in the way we lost the equaliser against Everton.

          Were they both Can's fault?

Yesterday was a big comedown. Shame we have to wallow through the international break now.

I had to leave early myself and felt bad about it, although I didn't leave until normal time was up. 7.45 flight back to Belfast. Got to airport terminal at 7.25 It was a dirty night people scrambling for buses, cars and taxis.

Missed the game but just saw the goals. ****ing hell, with that sort of defending, I'm not surprised they left early *

*meant in jest, of course, but Emre Can, **** me, what the **** was that mate???

His shot stopping is excellent, it's everything else he's **** at, especially distribution. For that reason he won't be here next season, along with a few other of course.

I have never seen a keeper whose distribution is as bad as his. He set the tone from the first minute with his suicidal pass to Sakho (or was it Moreno). Then he went through his normal routine where he gets the ball has players in space to give it to early but fannies around with it by which time every man and his dog is now in position and ready to press his inevitable short ball to one of our now marked centrehalves. Also whe Sakho got injured and he came back on you would think that maybe we want to give him time to settle and see how his injury is but the first thing Mignolet does is pass it to him under pressure.

I also thought he should have done much better for their goal. When I was at the match I thought he should have pushed it diagonally out from him but after seeing the highlights I think he should have caught the initial header
He's ****ing dreadful mate, easily one of the worst keepers I've ever witnessed.

Every single word you have written above is spot on and is exactly what he's like. He puts us in trouble on a near constant basis, can't describe him any different to what you have above but he's ****ing wank.

We definitely need to get rid in the summer.

What's your verdict on Bogdan so far?

Other than the two stupid goals conceded, I thought Liverpool were pretty ok in this game. I remember thinking when we went one down that there was a goal in this for us, and for long periods of the game, they looked positive and confident. Ibe's running and ability to beat a man is priceless, he looks invigorated under Jurgen.

On another day, this would have been another binary 1-0 result, but for Emre Can's layoff to an attacker (put your foot through it and clear!) and Mignolet parrying a shot right back into the field of play rather than pushing it wide. Palace looked a lot less able to get at Liverpool than when we played them last season.

I'm still marking this one down as progress under a new manager. They would have lost this 3-0 under Brendan.

That's different and obviously perfectly understandable...it's when people are leaving to "beat the traffic" so they can get home a bit earlier.

I know it's gone on for years but it's just a part of the problem at Anfield, with lack of atmos etc. I reckon Jurgen's probably a bit shocked by it all. Coming from Dortmund (incredible atmosphere again the other day) to this must be a right ****ing comedown.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Liverpool as a city is a place that likes to be entertained, but it has to be earned. I've seen it in all manner of places, be it gigs, comedy clubs or football. Its not exactly the same at Anfield, given that the away fans quite regularly and rightly sing "you're just a ground full of tourists" - but it is a factor.

I think even Simon would be able to hold a first team place down at Bradford.

I feel we are seeing definite improvement now, which I haven't seen for a long while, there is a plan, ongoing improvement and someone in charge we can all get behind, I'm pretty positive.
