Completely different approach and all, but the fact that he's never completely satisfied with this and that reminds me of Rafa's approach to management. Taking players aside after games and training etc
Of course, he's his own man and they couldn't be more different in personable mannerism with the players, but its certainly a commonality.

In an ideal world (I think for most of us) Skrtel steps into the senior/experienced position once Toure leaves, Lovren is moved on for a fee, and Illori and Gomez step up as squad players, pushing for a starting place even.

We get players who fit our profile better, at least on paper, while freeing up our transfer kitty to focus on other areas like fullback and midfield.

Ilori can't get in the Villa match-day squad, it'd be a small miracle if he was able to step up to be good enough for us at this stage.

But yeah 'ideal world' no money spent, we still have Wisdom on the books as well, he's recently moved to CB for Norwich, not sure if he played there against Chelsea or not but early reports are he's been far better than at RB.

All if fit either should be or would be pushing for starts.

Brilliant performance but we're a couple of (more) defensive injuries away from being hopelessly exposed.
At one point Clyne was limping badly which would have put Connor Randall up against Sterling, if Lovren would have gone off after 65/70 it's Toure on at CB although it's conceivable Klopp may have brought on Allen and moved Can to CB.

If we can get through until Flanagan and Sakho are back to provide depth we'll be flying

Yeah Can's back pass was definitely meant for Firmino imo, in fact i think it's Firmino that instigates the pass in Can's mind by making the run, which Can glances at.

Ok, maybe i missed that, just seeing Can glance as Firmino makes his run made me think it was the other way around.

I should be a top manager really. That's been my mantra for years, beat it Into my son and his teammates on a regular basis.
