    Best performance in years.

Away from home, against who were top of the league and still likely champions. And we could've had about double what we scored. It could have been really silly. City can call themselves lucky we gave them so much credit & stepped off at times in terror of what they'd do.

Best I can think of other than that, Arsenal at home an obvious one. But we were at home, this was away. Absolutely stunning. I agree with the sky lot though, we need to start doing that at home as opposed to just trouncing top teams in their own backyard.
    Forwards.......

Best thing this result does is scare the likes of Southampton, Swansea, Watford and even Leicester. There's something in the air and its making klopp sounds. Ominous.
      One tit for another.

We absolutely outplayed them! We didn't panic. We had a game plan & way of playing. We pressed them. We pressed them high up the pitch & forced them into errors. We capitalised on their mistakes. We could have had about 8! We were great to watch running rings around them. My dad said they'd get back into it even at 3-0 down. Under rodgers i'd have agreed with him. But since Klopps first game, I don't have that '****ting my pants here' feeling like we'll give up all 3 points! I told him we're a lot better defensively now. They got one back. They put on a little pressure start of the second half. But we came through that and got stuck back in ourselves and caused them some more problems!
Was immense to watch this team cause them soo much problems. Was immense to watch this team attack with intent. Long may it continue! In Klopp we believe!

There was a spell in the second half after the city subs when they were much more physical and bossed the game, we struggled to get the ball and they had a few chances that they couldt finish, we weathered that little storm but it was more luck that us showing some balls.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Whilst they had the edge, they weren't totally in control and bossing it. Of course, you could argue they had a chance to make it 3-2 and if it does game on. But we had countless chances at both 3-0 & 3-1 to add a fourth so it would be wrong to say we looked in danger of throwing it away.

I would say the only worry shown was that by a Liverpool fan who can't accept his team is smashing the would be champions at their own ground.

im just saying there was a period when we wobbled and they failed to turn the screw, and it wasnt us bravely defending, more citys inability to make it count.
we have often struggled against other teams when they pressurise us so its something we need to work on.

I was just speaking with one of the directors who was in the directors longe with ayre at the emptyhad stadium. He said the arab owners were iver for the game and there was lots of general sulking going on. This guy was telling me how he was shouting and screaming as we were scoring and lots of slience and moody stares coming his way

The way we manage to keep possession around the box and keep moving the ball with so many defenders around is unbelievable.

In Firmino we finally have someone else who Coutinho and Lallana can play those short interchanges with, and its a bloody joy to watch.

He is so cool under pressure, and that moment when he stepped inside a City player when he picked the ball up in the defensive 18 showed just how calm he is in possession.

I slept past the match and missed it completely. I should do this more often.

                            Wow.
I think i might be waking up at 2am to watch us again - it's been easier to IQ games and not watch them live, but if we carry on performing like that I'll have no choice.

We were a joy to watch going forward, and seeing the goals coming, the way we are playing, to confidence, the team spirit and ethic is fantastic.
We had many excellent performances, but just as encouraging as those individuals who have previously been mentioned in this thread was Lovren. By no means an amazing game, but that was probably the most composed performance I have seen from him in some time.

Well, he was decent, except when he kicked the ball into his own hand, we were lucky there

I've turned into a soft cock lately. Fell asleep watching the Arsenal game, woke up at half time in our match, sat up in the chair, fell asleep 5 minutes later. Lol.

Having finally found time to sit down and watch the match I feel that BR is partially absolved but the mystery deepens.

The tactics weren't a million miles from what he was using when we were at our best under him. The players are obviously the same. He was clearly on the right path just something went drastically wrong.

Anyways, not trying to drag up the whole BR thing again, it just immediately jumped at me. At the end of the day though it's great to see us playing that way, if we can find some consistency we have some team.
