Why sktrel didn't just launch it I will never know. He wasn't really under much pressure, just gave it straight back.
For the City goal it was obvious what Augero was going to do. I don't think Mignolet can over commit to one side but he could've been slightly more over to the side the the ball goes.

In actual fact, at the point of Augero's contact Mignolet was closer to the other side of the goal, he was too slow in shuffling across but I think it was most likely that for a split second he wasn't fully aware of where he was.

That said, such was the beauty of the strike, even if Mignolet had been the correct distance across, that ball still hits the back of the net.

      Should have buried that one.
He didn't know where the defender was I think, I don't think he realised how much space he had. He stopped to feel for the contact and know where Mangala was. Even after doing that though he should've done better with the finish.

He was decent. He had a couple of hairy moments in the second half where he went charging into no man's land and took reckless swipes at the ball which let them in behind him. Once Sakho is fit he'll be back where he belongs, he's nothing special.

I loved the replay of one of Migs excellent saves with Lovren in the background totally having it covered.

Not to take anything away from Migs, he doesn't know what's happening behind him, but Lovren was having 1 of those games.

If Lovren gets his **** together and keeps having those games we have 3 quality CB's fighting for 2 places. Life's good.

He needs more games before we make any more judgement on him. I think he's got quality. Sakho is also prone to the odd error and rush of blood.
            Are we winning?

I know he is but Sakho oozes class and his distribution is second to none so you can forgive him his misdemeanours in the bigger picture. Not a hope Lovren displaces him. He might displace the other fella. As you say, he needs more games and a sustained period of usefulness before we can find that out.

Every defender looks that way. They're the last line so mistakes are more readily punished.

Sakho is more mobile than Lovren which helps us out at times.

The problem we have at the moment is Sakho is clearly our best CB I don't think many would contest that.. He's also injured far too often for us to rely on him to a certain extent, we need our 3rd centre back to be capable of starting a substantial amount of games and not here just for cover in the cups or from time to time.

I think a CB will be one of the first positions Klopp addresses seriously.

regardless of the result the defense and to a lesser extent the whole team is still a problem and won't be addressed properly until the summer, until then kolpp will need to keep working his ideas

If we buy a CB it should be one who is going to be a regular. You then have to think who do we replace, Sakho or Sktrel. You'd have to say Skrtel, but that still leaves us the same problem when Sakho gets injured.

I don't see CB as a major issue we need to address in January personally. What I think we do need is competition for Lucas and some pace in the side. Rubén Neves has been rumoured and he sounds ideal. Leroy Sane if he has pace would also be a good idea. Bring in those two and that'd be a good window.

Add a CB & a Keeper in the summer, they're not really positions you want to mess around with half way through a season.

to me there is a fraction of second were the ball appeared to just hold up a little on the pitch.
                          who's arsed?

its a bit creepy, think ibeeeeey will seek an injunction, although it seems lallana is right up for it...
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                              I agree.

Personally I don't think we'll do anything major in January unless an opportunity to sign a summer target comes up and we feel its best to get it done early.

We need cover at full back, Flanagan is returning but we're really pushing Clyne and Moreno and if one breaks down we're ****ed. Enrique is done we're probably just looking for a solution because I doubt we'd get a penny for him at this stage.

                              Regarding CB;

We have 3 options, Toure is finished at the top level and Gomez is out for the rest of the season and even then he's completely untested in that role.

Lovren is in my eyes basically on a trial period with Klopp and I think he's started fairly well but will probably have the rest of the season to prove his worth.

Skrtel is 30 now but I think we'll keep hold of him.

Sakho, I've spoken about, brilliant but injuries are a problem.
