Benteke put it in the net three times but only scored once with one disallowed for offside and another for a very soft foul (should have stood in my opinion).

I thought he made good runs, pressed well, used the ball intelligently and won a lot of headers. He fluffed a few too but at least he's in there to make them!

    I'd give him a 7.5 today.
    Was muß, das muß.

Poor display but we are through, so we've done enough and that's all that matters.
        Forwards.......

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I thought Lovren was again excellent last night.
              Are we winning?

That interception when he sprinted from defence, get in!

It helps immensely that he now has cover when he does that.

He seems to be imposing himself a bit more now as well. He's not as strong as Sakho on one to ones but I think he is an able deputy.

Structure and clear coordination may be able to redeem even the unredeemable
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

It helps when the team is built from the back. We were an artist's painting under Rodgers, fluctuating between the brilliant and the abject abstract.

I could rant about Mignolet and say how he's not good enough for us, but I think we all know that anyway.

I'm not bothered about the performance last night. As Klopp said in his pre-match presser, this team is not very experienced in handling domestic and European competition together. We had to win to seal qualification with a game to spare, and we did that.

We won without playing well against an organised team without expending too much energy before Sunday. Could pick on individuals but there's no point, we're starting to learn how to win games in different ways which can't be a bad thing.

The difference was Benteke today, MotM for me.
