Its a real shame about Ings, I think his enthusiastic running and non stop energy won just about every doubter over in the short cameo he has had this season.

In relation to Benteke, I see a marginal gain in performance over Balotelli at enormous cost - he provides no value, other than he isn't a massive attention seeker away from the pitch.

Are you serious? He took a forearm to the back of a head from the other defender (not Olsen) that cleaned him out completely. T'other defender wasn't jumping one on one, he was coming in at an angle, alomost like his instruction was to take out the near post man to give Olsen a free header.

        Yes I am being serious

I think you have to expect elbows and arms in the box its part of the game

Some defenders manage not to be dominated or outmuscled others dont

There was no ducking - it was an arm over his shoulder pulling him down and pushing him forward as Lovren was jumping - I don't care how strong you are, simple physics dictate that you aren't going to jump as high when someone is climbing over you like this.

The arm on the shoulder prevented him getting any height in his challenge but I do think he instinctively "ducked" his head

The westbrom player wasn't challenging for the ball - wasn't even looking. Just trying to impede Lovren so its a clear foul.

It was a clear foul. You can't go in like that. What sort of ****ing tactic is that??

No wonder Klopp didn't shake any of their hands.

It is a foul, but you never ever see them given. Good job too, otherwise Skrtel would be costing us three penalties a game.

West Brom always run blockers at set-pieces, same as Allardyce's teams always do. You have to stop them by being at least as tough and canny as they are.

It may well have been a foul and that photo is just an instant before "the duck" I have been talking about

To me Lovren ducked whether instinctively through contact or in the hope of getting the foul

All this is kind of irrelevant anyway we are shockingly bad at set pieces, we look like conceding every time an opponent gets one

West Brom scored 3 times yesterday from set pieces. Admittedly 1 was disallowed for offside but that has got to be a major concern that we are so fragile from them

They are such an important part of the game nowadays and even more so when you are playing Pullis, Allardyce or even Pardews teams

This isn't a 50:50 with 2 players challenging for the same ball an one is using an arm to get leverage - its a defender being pulled back by another player who has no interest in the ball, just fouling the player.

We do see them given all the time too! Benteke seems to draw a foul every time he brushes against an opposition defender in their box.

Ok, I'm going full Assassin (I know, I know never go full Assassin ). After sleeping on the result and spending the morning spitting out bitterness there were actually some decent positives out of yesterday:

                          1. Origi and Ibe running at tired legs, both able to shoot with both feet. Good subs to bring on from now on
                          2. Coutinho is back
                          3. Henderson is back
                          4. The Anfield Roar
                          5. We p*ssed off Pulis
                          6. Against one of the tightest PL defences we actually managed to score 2. More of the same please

Coutinho and Henderson are going to change our top 4 fortunes. Crafty ball movement and late runs are what we've been missing.
                          One tit for another.

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Really???? I think he will end up being an expensive sub for the next couple of years before being ****ed out to someone like West Ham or Crystal Palace.

Coutinho is a far far better player than Lallana. And younger too. I think yesterday showed that playing both Coutinho and Lallana is a bit of a waste of time. And it was pretty apt that Klopp took Lallana off even after Coutinho was already substituted.....

Well Coutinho is our best player, so I don't think Lallana is quite at his level. But I'd have him in the team every day of the week ahead of Firmino. Firmino may improve, but he's taking his time this far.

Coutinho and Lallana were both excellent against City (as was Bobby F) and the combination of the 2 with a centre forward who makes any sort of movement (Origi) or runs at all will work pretty well.

I'd say Lallana could add a few more goals, but the assist yesterday was a step in the right direction.

                                I rate him.
