I think the question is how much attention should it get. Given we allow the opposition so few shots and Mignolet is know to have issues at set pieces you would think it would be pretty high up the list."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Yeah, I'd prefer that - I didn't say "the only", I said pretty much. He's getting a lot of games due to the lack of other options just now is my point, especially with Firmino having a "difficult time settling in".Originally posted by Assassin View PostNot really....an offensive 3 of Coutinho, Firmino and Origi would be difficult for any team to handle....

On yet another sidenote: Look at all their setplays and how they directly plan to obstruct the keeper - every single time it's a foul IMO.
And it was only given once - And Fletcher stood there with his halo and didn't understand why.
****house of a ref. We are poor at set plays - no two ways about that, but the ref bottled it every ****ing time.
The goal that was ruled out was extremely easy to see - I yelled OFFSIIIIIDE at the tv already when the ball was struck, yet it took them a while to figure out. Award the ****er a medel, for spotting it ages later.

Firmino has only had one great game until now IMO - I dont think he's the messiah... yet!Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostYeah, I'd prefer that - I didn't say "the only", I said pretty much. Yep, it's boss, loads around Europe do it, it's great. The sneering about it just shows the massive disconnect we are used to having with the players here. Obviously you expect a few wind up remarks from Manc's, blues etc but some of the comments about it are bizarre not the least the "celebrating a draw" ****. He ****ing wasn't! Most people in every fanbase in the country must want improved atmospheres and more of a connection with the players, yet fella tries something and he's pretty much mocked for it, this is what he's up against so good luck to him!Originally posted by Barnie7 View PostIts not just Dortmund , I think most German teams do it...I see almost every Freiburg home game and this is done after every match , as you say its a way of showing appreciation to the supporters - it creates a great bond between the players & the crowd
Anfield was rocking again for 15 mins, not much to boast about but it was a start and clearly meant a lot to him. I think he saw yesterday as some sort of breakthrough day. We shall see but stuff like what he did wont hurt, I'd have them fronting up every week, win, lose or draw. 60 seconds of their time to show a bit of appreciation isn't a big deal.

For once Shearer made a good point on MOTD last night - the linesman claimed that he wanted to check who got the touch (LFC player or WBA) before giving offside, but under the new laws it's irrelevant. As at least 3 WBA players tried to attack the ball while offside they should have been flagged regardless of who actually touched the ball.Originally posted by DKdan View PostOn yet another sidenote: Look at all their setplays and how they directly plan to obstruct the keeper - every single time it's a foul IMO.

Saw highlights of the game last night and that's exactly what I thought too. Yes defenders and strikers barge each other and get away with things but this was a blatant two on one foul straight from the MMA training ground at WBA.Originally posted by rudedog View PostI thought their second goal shouldn't have stood. There were two West Brom players jumping for the ball with Lovren. Ollsen scored but the other player had his arm over Lovrens shoulder stopping him from challenging Ollsen.
I'm glad Klopp is p*ssed off with Pulis' style. Jurgen seemed to revel in the fact Pulis is annoyed he didn't get the full three points. One tit for another.

Not saying we should have done anything differently, just that given who was on the pitch for us it wasn't surprising that they were going to be dangerous from set-pieces. So you accept that the second goal might happen, but we should be able to create more and certainly shouldn't be gifting them the first.Originally posted by DKdan View PostTo be fair Lovren has been very commanding in the air lately.
Lallana won a header, leading to our goal.
Can, Milner and Hendo all decent in the air too IMO. But I get your point.
On the other hand I dont think the recipe for coping against it is fielding our best headers. IMO making sure we arent giving stupid set plays away against them was the most important thing.
And exactly because of their ****house, big lump players, we should have gone the other way. Quick players, with quick feet, with lots of movement.
Which we did - besides the movement.
Fighting them on their terms is not the answer I think?

Bogdan would have punched Fletcher, Benteke (who was pushed into the keeper) and the ball in one swipe. He's just bigger and stronger and can deal with these scenarios.Originally posted by captainfog View PostOur tactics were fine against West Brom. Some of our players just aren't good enough. Also, if it wasn't for Mig being typically **** we would have won.
I'm in the Bogdan camp, have been for a few weeks. One tit for another.

In fairness I think the linesman knew they were offside but he was making sure it went in off one of their players & not ours as it was was an OG it may have stoodOriginally posted by DKdan View PostOn yet another sidenote: Look at all their setplays and how they directly plan to obstruct the keeper - every single time it's a foul IMO.

Though surely with half their team being offside it should have been flagged as they were 'active' offside anyway?
Stupid rules now.....What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Spot on! All 3 were offside, and it was plain to see.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostFor once Shearer made a good point on MOTD last night - the linesman claimed that he wanted to check who got the touch (LFC player or WBA) before giving offside, but under the new laws it's irrelevant. Is the right answer. Doesn't matter if they get a touch, they are interfering with play - Mignolet could have positioned himself better if they didn't (Not that he would, mind)Originally posted by Yozza View PostIn fairness I think the linesman knew they were offside but he was making sure it went in off one of their players & not ours as it was was an OG it may have stood
