Completely agree, but teams will suss that out in 3...2...1...

It basically worked for Rodgers because you couldn't suppress Sturridge and Suarez. Oppos couldn't press on Gerrard because Skrtel would launch it to SAS and they were f*cked.

Won't work so well with Benteke and Origi. Or Origi and Invisible Man (Firmino). A great formation when the right players are used but the easiest to destroy into pieces otherwise (ironic calling it diamond really).

What gets me is in the 80s and 90s I would play different formation depending on which team we were up against. If oppos had 3 at the back we'd put 3 strikers up front. If they went 4-4-2 we'd flood the midfield. Etc. Have managers nowadays forgotten how to 'manage'?

It does seem that managers these days over complicate a very simple game and are often very rigid in their setup.

Pundits still expect Leicester to crash & burn. They probably will, but there is zero chance of us finishing above them if we lose this one.

I fear Spurs more than any other team with top 4 aspirations. If it weren't for Leicester, I'd be less nervous about this ****ty form we're in.

I think we will be ok this season ... Spurs look incredibly strong this season and I suspect they will strengthen in the Jan window .. Looking at whats ahead of us .. , Manu, Leicester, Spurs are our competition with one eye on Chelsea ... we need to take points off them its thats simple

With so many games in the next 2weeks I don't think they will risk Vardy on Boxing Day. 3 of their next 4 games will be tough. We'll see how they are looking then. Convinced that we can finish above the Manchester. Arsenal will win the league I think. Even end as bad as Cited have been without Aguero and Kompany I can't see them missing top 4

Just watched MOTD2 city game and Jesus Arsenal casually walzed through them time and time again ... if they keep playing like this ..I think they could be in about the dogfight for top 4 .... I have a horrible feeling Arsenal are going to win the Lg and Pepe G will be announced as their new manager for the 2016 - 2017 season

I think we'll do well to finish top six tbh, we've been brought back to earth with a bang and our problems are deep rooted and will take long time to sort out. I trust Klopp to do it though, we did well to get him aboard, the poor sod. If results don't go our way we might even prioritize the Europa ahead of the league.

After the game on boxing day I will be rooting for Leicester.

I think you're right about Arsenal but I can't see Wenger jacking it in for a few years yet. Apart from feeling vindicated he's (allegedly) one of the highest paid managers in the world - like top 2 or 3 highest.

So it looks like a back line of Sakho & Toure. They've always looked okay together iirc, though it's not happened very often. Unless Klopp throws a curveball of Lucas or Can at the back.
