Jaysus, our players are so frustratingly inconsistent. Allen, Firmino good this game, a game or two ago not so.

Just had a thought and our best results lately have been with three in the middle of the park.
City , Chelsea and Soton away we have had Lucas and Can playing plus one other whether it has been Allen or Milner,
The way forward from now ? the difference between last night and the others was our wasteful finishing which didn't help when Coutinho went off

I'm a gerbil too then, thought he was his usual poor self. Hoping he'll come good after he's settled in, but really can't understand the positivity in regards to his performance tonight.Originally posted by danperkins View PostFirmino wasn't that great. Lot of work from teh lad and got in some great positions but his touch, passing and shooting have let him down badly since coming to LFC. Hopefully he can improve

yep, he was very mobile and finding the right spaces and areas to run into. However, his quality is not there yet and he gave away possession or ran up blind alleys a few times. He'll be amazing when he gets his shooting boots on. Scuffers for fun at the moment...

Definitely, read the game excellently. But where's Sakho? He injured too?Originally posted by G View PostCan't find the Kolo thread on my phone so here will do. He was ****ing immense last night. Considering an awful lot of our fans never wanted to see him on the pitch again he showed he's still very much capable of doing a job.

The standard of punditry / football analysis whatever you want to call it is shocking at times. I listened to 5Live yesterday and Mark Pougatch did not half talk some ****e as he tends to do most weeks.
His take Stoke were ****e .. there key players did not turn up and that why they are not still at the likes of Bayern. When to me it was obvious that we shut down the supply to them, Shaqri rarely got a touch of the ball, he supplies the other two ... Johnson and there Central mf who's name leaves me right now .. got very little time on the ball... there defenders all got pressed as did there outlets ... all in all it was a masterclass by Liverpool on how to nullify dangerous players but not stopping them but stopping the players feeding them the ballAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Teams change their tactics and it was quite clearly we did and Stoke didn't have a clue to counter us.
Only time we got under pressure was when they brought Crouchy on and reverted to Stoke of old and alehouse lob the ball up to the big man.
