I think it is possible to argue that given the money in the league PL teams are crap at building genuine squad depth. Particularly, they seem incapable of having decent youth backups. It's not like the number of fixtures can come as a surprise to teams.Originally posted by Fredo View PostYep we need to prioritise. We play far too many games over here.
You are right though that we have some hard choices to make with a threadbare squad now with all our injuries. I think we have to view this game as an audition for fringe/youth players. If they can't succeed against Exeter it is difficult to see them shining against Arsenal or United."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Agree with all of this. One of those though, win and it's forgotten about, lose and we may have another Burnley/Rafa on our hands. I wouldn't have thought so though, all the hacks still like Klopp atmOriginally posted by dww View PostI think it is possible to argue that given the money in the league PL teams are crap at building genuine squad depth. When we lost to Burnley we went on to win a European trophy that season. I'll take that again this seasonOriginally posted by wiw View PostAgree with all of this. I think the hacks are actually turning on Klopp a bit, he's getting little leeway from them and I find some fans also a little impatient, given he's been here for two months.Originally posted by Camble View PostWe'll probably get in trouble for fielding a weakened side full of kids when in reality it'll probably be our strongest side available!* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Originally posted by Assassin View PostNot sure that I will be to bothered if we lose. Our fixture list and injury list are both horrendous. Losing would give us a bit of breathing space.
If we win, we should continue to field the young team. It's what Wenger used to do, so hardly unprecedented. It should give the young lads some exposure, and the chance for them to make a name for themselves.
The young uns must be buzzing today... Exciting

Klopp is a little too wise for the hacks. He nips everything in the bud at the press conferences. He does it in a light hearted way rather than a special one way. It would take a lot more than a defeat to Exeter for them to turn on himOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostI think the hacks are actually turning on Klopp a bit, he's getting little leeway from them and I find some fans also a little impatient, given he's been here for two months.

I'm sure they will all be up for it. They are getting a fantastic chance to stake a claim in the first teamOriginally posted by Buzzo View Post

Will be just like watching an U21 match. Lots of goals scored because we have some good, clever forward running players (Kent, Smith, Tex, Sinclair-ish), and lots conceded because we have a ****e set of CBs. Net result we usually we win by 1 goal.
Hoping for a eureka moment when one player looks outstanding. One tit for another.
