Overall we had a slightly better performance than them. However, we didn't take the few chances we had - in fact we absolutely fluffed them - and they took the one they did with aplomb. That was our defence's fault. Considering how tight the games in the premiership have generally become you just can't afford the kind of brain farts we have at the back - either from the keeper or the defenders. This isn't a one off. This is a pattern.

I thought the team looked tired in the first half and I'm very surprised that Klopp didn't address this sooner. I'm trying to remember the last game I saw where Lallana played well so I'm also surprised he gets a starting position over just about anyone. Those would be my small criticisms of Klopp's performance today.

United have shown the difference it makes having a good keeper even when the rest of your team isn't playing well. Our priority list should start with the back first I think.

Seen a few people suggesting that we should hold off buying anyone until summer now.

I disagree with this, I feel that if we get some good players now they have a better chance to bed in before summer, gives them a chance to be better at the start of next season without once again going through 6 or 7 games of "transition"

They got one chance to score and they did it. You know this is coming and you still don't prepare for this? Anyway, we should have scored and put the game to bed beforehand.
          Are we winning?

Effort was there but we lack quality all over the pitch

I've got to add that the timing of Klopps substitutions in generall drive me crazy

Soooo disappointed. You couldn't make it up. A win that truly typifies the infuriating ****ty jamminess of United.

I also don't understand if we have two big lads up front yet a wide player in ibe who just wont ever cross the ball. We take off Milner who can put a ball in to serve those two. There's no point in putting benteke onto the pitch if there's nobody to put decent balls in the box.

I ****ing hate losing to those manc cunts. I ****ing hate it more than anything.
I'm not sure it is so much of a blind spot rather than we lack good attacking options. The only attacking mids from our side with enough quality are Firmino and Coutinho. We are even further hamstrung by a lack of forwards.

Chucking Ward in at United for his first game wouldn't be wise, and Ibe has been worse than Lallana over the last couple of games.

I agree subs were maybe a bit late though.
It's not that Lallana played today in particular it's just that he seems to play all the time! Theres other options like 2 up top or whatever though nothing is ideal granted. It's just a bit weird he's seemingly untouchable despite being an attacker who cant score or assist!

I think today would have actually been good for Ward, they were never going to come here and pound our goal or anything, it would actually have been one of the easier games for him. He simply has to come in after Exeter though, if he can at least kick a ball properly he'll be an improvement on this complete clown.

Yeah, I think the lack of a sub might have been something along the lines of what Matt said too, Klopp probably things the players on the bench don't have more quality than the players on it and couldn't make a difference.

Desperately need at least one forward either bought or on loan.

Oh and some pace, we are so one paced and that pace is a little bit quicker than walking.

In patches we were good and way, way better than a really poor United. We don't have enough players that threaten the goal. Lallana and Mig need replacing- neither are good enough.

The longer the game went on you just knew it. Poor Mig clearance, corner, Ibe not switched on to the short corner, 4 jump with Fellaini... A catalogue of poor decisions/play.

We lost because we couldn't score. We had enough possession in the final third and created enough chances.

Too easy to focus on the **** up at the back that led to their goal. Apart from that, we were solid at the back.
                            Another MASSIVE game

Full time: #LFC 0 #MUFC 1. #MUFC have had four shots on target against #LFC this season. Four goals, six points.

League season done in mid January, how depressing. All in for the Europa and Cups now then!
