I wish Klopp would stop bringing on Ibe as his default sub, its like he thinks he's going to be an impact player, yet nothing could be further from the truth.

There are a lot of very average players in our team.Originally posted by Fredo View PostThe team is not ****e. Klopp has been on record that the quality of players he has at his disposal is better than the Dortmund team he inherited in 2007. He just needs to adjust and learn how to make us a competitive team as quickly as he can.
I'd prioritise the league and play kids in cup competitions. That's what we did in 2014 and we nearly won the league.

Despite all the decent play we had you could see something like that coming, if you don't take your chances that's what happens. We really need to bring someone in who can score goals.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostTo be fair to Henderson, I don't think any were golden chances, to be honest I would say they were mostly half chances, but as I said in the match thread at HT, previously we have had players in the squad (Gerrard, Suarez, Torres etc) who could take those half chances and put them in the net, those players mentioned have put those chances away in these fixtures in the past. With all due respect to Henderson, he isn't in their league. I think it just indicates the lack of quality we have in the squad

We controlled that for the most part. But was no where near the same intensity as we played against Arsenal just a few days ago! We missed plenty of chances! Lallana's attempt from Lucas' ball, the 2 hendo chances. Can's shot was brilliantly saved. Lallana just cant shoot. Misses the target 95% of the time & also takes an age on the ball before releasing it! (I still lol at the 'would do a step over before taking a penalty
but is sooo true if him).
I felt watching the game when we needed to play quickly we took our time & when there was no pressure on the ball we attempted a quick first time pass. Both scenario's saw us either lose possession or allow them to get back & play narrow to close off space which we just ended up running into their defenders!
On to the next game! Just hope we get in a quick mobile striker who doesn't suffer from not scoring! Be it on loan or perm!

You loathed Rodgers and this squad though so not sure what you are expecting?!Originally posted by tanner View PostI'm seeing no improvement under Klopp unfortunately. Rodgers would've been crucified bringing in someone like Caulker and then playing up front.
Early days and I believe he will bring us some success, but I have to be honest and say I thought he'd turn things around quickly. Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect us to be challenging for the top (although this season with Leicester sitting there, there's no reason why not) but I did expect him to get us playing with a lot more than this. His win rate is pretty atrocious, I half expected there to be a big honeymoon period, but as it is, its much of the same.

It's not ****e if being relegated is ****e.Originally posted by Fredo View PostThe team is not ****e. Looking at what is arguably out strongest current line-up, injuries aside.
Mig
Clyne Skrtel Sahko Moreno
Can Lucas Henderson
Firmino Sturridge Coutinho
Obviously cases can me made for the likes of Ings/Origi and Milner but you catch my drift, out of those I reckon
3 out of the back 5 could be replaced
2 out of the midfield
And since the main one is a crock and Firmino is still hot and cold 2 out of the attack
So that's 7 out of 11 players that aren't good enough to be starters. Is a bit ****e.
The times they are a changin'.

He'd be wise to put the majority of his focus on the second leg and then, hopefully, the final. Giving the players a taste of Wembley and winning a trophy should hopefully give them a taste for more and improve the team's mentality.

He's unlikely to say he needs to ship players out and bring new ones in though is he.Originally posted by Fredo View PostThe team is not ****e. I don't think our squad is that bad but it certainly needs some work in key areas - keeper, striker and a goal threat from MF.
We'd be best of prioritising the league and Europa cups now, a top four finish in the league is highly unlikely

The prioritising needs to happen next season, not now when the league is ****ed already.Originally posted by RichC View PostHe's unlikely to say he needs to ship players out and bring new ones in though is he.

Take parts of it in isolation if you like. Yes, I expected to see a bigger improvement by now under Klopp, in part due to a honeymoon period, but mostly due to his energy, passion and reknowned pressing game.Originally posted by Muddled View Post
I usually gloss over your posts, but this one tickled me.
You expected instant results from a new manager? You expected a group of under-performing players to suddenly start performing? You expected average players to suddenly find another level?
We've seen good, bad and average under Klopp which is entirely to be expected as he implements his ideas, changes tactics and training and has an opportunity to identify and bring in players of his choosing.
By now, I expected to see a consistency in our play, but I'm yet to see it, we're just as inconsistent as always.
However, I do expect Klopp to bring us more success in the coming seasons, whats so hard to accept from that?SakhoPotatoes

We needed pace and clinical finishing. None of that on display. We had a bunch of industrious workmen, and a spark (Firmino).
We could've done with Coutinho in there to give some support, but he's out.
Regarding Klopp, people should remember that he's had no pre-season, and is coming into a club that is demanding, and there's games every few days, with a squad full of mid-table quality. This season is a write-off for me in the league. Focus on the cups and try to bag one of them.
