However, it was a massive game; the promise of Champions League football to potential new recruits, the cash, the first trophy ... we've fluffed it.

...it is a bit like clutching at straws, admittedly. Don't want to be a drama queen about it though... we need to face the reality were not as good (yet) as we probably all think we are under Klopp

How much of the performance can be attributed to resting players in the last games of the season?

We just didn't respond to that quick equaliser and that's what sh*ts me the most.

Too much doom here. I never rated Rogers but now Klopp has a chance to build from zero.
I rate Klopp, he's right or us, unless the septics start dicking him around.

        Moreno has to go.

How we can show so much fight against Dortmund, the second leg against Villarreal, pull Chelsea and City apart, stick six past Southampton and Villa and then not even turn up tonight for our biggest game in however many years I'll never know.

Terrible referee. Moreno was a shambles. Our midfield overrun, our forward line isolated and such a lack of fight.

I think it's going out with a whimper which hurts the most. I can stomach losing if we try but I can't stomach a lack of effort.

Did we even have a shot in the 2nd half
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This team really isn't kloppos. We have to accept that and lets face it he's got to two cup finals and lost them both and we have finished 8th in the league. It says a lot that on our day we can pull out results but over the course of the season we don't have enough quality.

Kloppo will rebuild the defence, midfield and attack. We will be a totally different team next year.

That's not fair. They cheated and got away with two handballs that would've given us penalties. It was really harsh for us not to be 3 up, or the chance of being 3 up, at half time

Well if he was greeting his "homies" then that's outrageous. He is far too "happy go lucky" to be much good.

Did they? Webb (I know, but still) saying neither were handballs

I missed the second one, but didn't think the non award of the first was overly dubious?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

                        Yep

And Sturridge instead of Toure, Sturridge was ****ed and Toure looked fresh

The defeat is a long way from Moreno's sole responsibility, but he needs a decent crack around the head for the stupendously annoying decisions he makes, like shooting when his opponent is standing directly four inches in front of him.

                            Agree 100%.

Begs the question which of that team (inc subs) tonight will be guaranteed a starting berth in Klopp's new look squad instead game of next season? Not many on that showing...

The one where matey crouched down and slowed Sturridge's through-ball to Firmino was. It's the only one that BT didn't show a replay of.

The other shouts... probably not. But that one was nailed-on in my opinion.

For one the defender stooped down like he was tenpin bowling fella. The first one, v Firmino, the defender brought his arm nearer to his body but it was moved towards the ball.
