Still gutted. Was like watching City the other week going down with a whimper and no fight. Klopp seemed baffled as to why we just self-combusted after the equaliser - the hardest part to take is not making a fist of it in the second half. We just got gradually worse.
It was like watching eleven strangers play in the second half, there was some effort there but no-one was on the same wavelength and heads had gone completely. Klopp's trying to engrain mental toughness and a 'play 100% to the final whistle' but we looked like we had a soft underbelly last night. Didn't play for each other - attacking threat didn't get stuck in and create anything, passing was all over the place, clearances were hoofball, communication between players was strained.
Cold light of day, it doesn't feel any better - but the reality is that Klopp will likely not get some of his top acquisitions now because of no CL football. We'll need to have a good pre-season and bring in some mental toughness and experience to help those players who will stay and are still developing. Can looked lost last night... reminded me of the early Stevie G days when he had the talent and just didn't know how to affect himself on the game. That self-belief will come, the team will get tougher/harder from this and I am confident Klopp will get the best there is available to him to address the balance in the squad.
Still massively gutted though. Don't give a **** about the Euros either. A long summer ahead...

Thought it summed us up really, without going through the whole team -
Lovren and Toure gave the ball away probably 80% of the time, Sevilla went long to beat our press so we just panicked and gave it straight back. Considering he's much maligned for it we desperately missed Sakho's calmness in possession of the ball.
Coutinho was anonymous, at least Firmino and Lallana (who were just as bad) worked hard.
Sturridge, absolute world class goal then dropped deeper and deeper, when Sevilla were on top 2nd half we were crying out for an outlet to go in-behind, relieve some of the pressure but he couldn't do that, not for want of trying but it's not his game.
So nothing new, still don't see Coutinho or Sturridge fitting in with a Klopp team starting week in week out, next season both Ings and Origi are more likely to play as the '1' up front.
Sturridge if he stays will play in a '2' or against the weaker PL sides. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Wat the ****. The officials were ****ing terrible all game.
The image isn't exactly conclusive though, Sturridge is moving towards the ball and I don't know where he was when the ball was headed.Last edited by Kenneth; 19-05-16, 10:48 AM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

The Firmino one was handball, no question. The sly ****er pulled his arm away after making contact and fooled the officials and pundits but it was handball. The one where the player touched the rolling ball couldn't have been more blatant. Then there was all of the cheap freekicks for them. I said it earlier in the season, Spain are so good in Europe largely because they are sly cheating cunts and the game rewards that these days.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I don't think they'd have recovered from 2 down.
