Jones was kicking on with klopp get regular run of games.

Slot obviously prefers other options to Jones.

I think it's important we have some English/local players in the team but they do need to be good enough as the first requirement.

If he's playing right back tonight, I'm confident he'll have a decent game.

Not many starts though and hence that lack of rythmn.

Not sure how I'd feel.. go and get more gametime and realise my personal potential or the opposite but for my own club who will win trophies.

I think... I'd want to play as much as possible in what is a short career

Maybe Elliott is the better example here - Slot looks a bit like Guardiola in terms of preferring have a squad of 18-19 core players over a season. That can work with a few multifunctional players in the squad

And it will be interesting to see his approach after a summer in which he will presumably get some of his own preferred choices in

Slightly concerned that if Slot doesn't improve / increase rotation we could end up with a very strong starting 11 but a rather weak set of replacements. After all, if you are Elliott or Jones and told next season your game time will be like this season, what is the incentive to stay? And as others have pointed out - the English game requires rotation if we are not to knack every starter before the end of the season. I suspect Slot will learn this, but limited signs so far. Very different in style from previous managers here - I do think there is value in playing the same team every week, but I suspect he is going a little too far with it.

He’s very good player who can play a couple of positions in midfield.

I wouldn’t be looking to let him move on at all if it was my decision and I don’t think he will.

He can go up another level in the next one to two years and be consistently one of the better midfielders in Europe.

I think Szobo is already there though.
Yeah I agree with that too. Likeable local lad who seems happy with his role in the squad & hasn’t demanded silly money in wages or a captaincy role etc.

He's a fantastic player but Dom is more effective in our system at the moment.

The way things are going I can see him reluctantly leaving end of next season.

Yep he seems to be one of those players that needs a few games to get himself up to speed, but once there his levels of consistency rarely drop.

It's just during those games he is coming back in that he can look a bit patchy imo.

I have a soft spot fir him, but he seemed very inconsistent both within a game and from game to game. I know that is a trait with youngsters but he is 24 now so it is getting close to make-orbreak time.

I'm less convinced about him than I was. His inconsistency could obviously be down to being in and out of the team or maybe it's the other way round.
