Quality performance and one that was mature beyond his years.

Yip i thought Jones was brilliant.

A year ago, i would have put money that he would nuat always be a squad player andaybe end up in a mid-table team when he was around 28/29 due to the need to play football. A bit of a darren fletcher. But he has been brilliant this season - and we should hope that a new manager doesn't harm his progress. Before he would take 5 touches when 2 were enough..... He has come on so far though and provides brilliant link between the full back and the winger. Brilliant season

I would say that Curtis would be better in a middle 3 the way Southgate plays.......with Maddison being either off the left wing (in a front 3) or in a #10 role behind Kane.

So for me, Maddison is competing against the likes of Foden, Grealish, Rashford, Saka and maybr Cole Palmer etc whereas Jones is up against the likes of Henderson, Phillips, Ward Prowse..... And maybe even Trent

If he isn't picked by England for the summer then there is something seriously wrong imo. Id actually put him in a midfield 3 with Rice and Bellingham tbh. He is class. But when the likes of Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Maddison etc all getting call ups before him, there is something wrong there

I’ll hold my hands up, 100% wrong with that comment.

That would be a very tasty midfield trio.

Was impressed with his temperament last night too. There was a few occasions where he was strong with the ball and he was being kicked and nicked at a few times and he didn't respond or moan.

Thiago is a great player but I feel that given how long he has been out, the amount of time it will likely take to get him back to full fitness and the situation with his contract it seems unlikely that he will be playing long periods in many games, it would be good if we could bring him on when needed in important games towards the end of the season but I wouldn't really consider him a first choice option anymore.

TAA I'm not sure where he fits into the midfield obviously the hybrid role has seen him in a double pivot, if he were to go into midfield full time I'm not sure he'd be suited to the 'DM' role that MacAllister plays and if he were to take one of the No 8 roles you would imagine him being more suited to the right hand one which Szoboszlai has been playing

So satisfying to see him be part of a midfield that dominated both of the 100 mil signings.

Genuinely so much better than Fernandez.
