Klopp's been at Liverpool for 3 years now...in his 3rd full season at the moment.
1st season - Finalists in two cups
1st full Season Objective - Improve 1st team & Qualify for CL - Done!
2nd full Season Objective - Improve Squad & Qualify for CL consistently/Improve League standing - CL Finalists & Achieved CL again with a very exciting team!
3rd full Season Objective - Improve Squad/1st Team & get closer to City - Pushing City very hard for the PL!!!
4th full Season Objective - More of the same & integrate more of our talented youngsters into the 1st team squad
Moaners, Lay off this guy!...Best manager since Rafa!
I'm enjoying the ride so far & yes, much as I love us to win the league...Won't get myself too downbeat knowing that I trust who we have in charge!Last edited by Angryred; 04-03-19, 06:22 PM.Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Frenchie
All of this is well and good however it was in our hands now it is not.
City are more than capable of winning all their remaining games.
Even if we do which is doubtful we come second.
So we wait for City to make a mistake... Not what we want...

It's such a weird season.
Defence & Keeper - On the whole very solid. Both full backs massive attacking threats. Best centre back since Hansen. Best keeper since Brucie.
Midfield - workman like. Very little goal threat or creativity. In Fab we finally have a proper ball winner. Keita was finally showing promise and been bombed. Missed Ox but we expected the whole season.
Attack - as a 3 very poor. Sloppy, little cohesion, loose. All 3 have had good games but rarely at the same time. Mane is the pick for me but he will always be an inconsistent finisher, he's more instinctive. Bobby has been well off the pace for large parts of the season. Mo has posted decent numbers but his touch is awful and has been since August. It's like he's injured or has something massive on his mind distracting him. Gerrard had a similar season once.
I'll be honest I love our points total. I love the fact we rarely get beat. I don't love watching us. Barely count the games on one hand that have been fun to watch all season. Been ****e in Europe especially away. Worse than ****e at Red Star and Napoli. Out of both cups early, fair enough to save our legs. Not good in either game against City. Started to play looking for draws.
It's annoying because this same set of players minus the keeper played some brilliant football last year.
We've all been saying we will click soon but it's just glimpses. No we seem to have gone in reverse not helped by the winter weather apparently.
It just feels so Liverpool. Build your hopes up to get them savagely ripped away.
Fingers crossed the likes of Buzzo are right and We can make a decent fight of it.
Strange season.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

We should give the defence and GK their dues, they’ve been beyond solid. They’ve been elite. 15 conceded in 29 is outstanding and the reason we’re pushing City so close.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostIt's such a weird season.

I’d say it’s not really quite the same set of players plus a new Goalie though. As shown by the tweet further up, it’s a very different midfield too. A lot has been made about not replacing Phil and missing Ox, which is obviously true. But there’s also Emre Can too. We’d never have considered him our most attacking midfielder, yet stick him in this team and he’d be leading the way for goals and assists from midfield..

Something ****e like that, unfair on Fabinho as he's been brilliant in the ball winning role. And it's not Wijnaldum's role either, but Keita and others are not yet up to scratch. We'll definitely have to add to midfield in the summer.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostKeïta - 1 assist

Some measured views
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47449256
https://www.theguardian.com/football...r-league-title
"Defensively Liverpool have rediscovered the solidity and organisation that underpinned their challenge from the outset. A team consumed by nervous tension does not keep five consecutive clean sheets in all competitions. Virgil van Dijk was again imperious against Everton and, with Dejan Lovren possibly back for Sunday’s visit of Burnley, plus Joe Gomez expected to return after the next international break, Klopp’s options should be fully restored for the run-in. A team cracking under pressure does not go 35 league games unbeaten at home either. Liverpool have dropped four points at Anfield this season, in draws against City and Leicester, and will host five of their remaining nine matches. Visits to Fulham, Southampton, Cardiff and Newcastle also compare favourably with a City schedule that includes trips to Selhurst Park and Old Trafford."Last edited by banditos; 05-03-19, 06:58 AM.

Strange season.
all fair points, I wouldn't say strange season though but certainly a very contrasting season when putting is beside last season. We are robotic this season, ultra functional whereas last season we were just hell for leather. Klopp has tried and succeeded in making us harder to beat but it has taken away from the attacking threat.
It has worked though I mean look where we are. If only we had a player with the work rate of the other mids but with creativity too... would set that midfield balance right & be helpful to our front lads who largely get nothing from the midfield. It's an issue which Klopp has struggled with this season, personally I would play Shaq in every game, we are a better attacking side with him in it.... absolutely no need for the 3 lads to play together it just stifles us.
