    Yep.

Not as easy/affordable as all that for me over the last 10 years with kids etc. Then not possible to get tickets. Kids have literally only got into football since Christmas so the timing of this game is unreal.

And I lived in Guernsey from 14-24. So the opportunities for me to go have been few and far between.

    So quite excited myself..!

I’ve not told the kids yet they are going to be very excited.

My track record on seeing the mighty reds is not amazing.

4-1 defeat away to Luton in the 80’s.

0-0 draw in the UEFA cup at Anfield under Houllier.
Can we club together to get your kids a cab there and keep you away

Wow. Fair play I hope you enjoy it. Cant believe you went to a game in the 80's and then what 14 years later and then it'll be nearly 20 again. That's impressive.

I just assumed as you lived in Scotland you'd been a few times. That goes for anyone that lives in the UK and is in their 40's. Now I've seen your reasons that makes sense.

To support a team from another country, so passionately and for so long and have barely seen them in the flesh is weird but brilliant. Fair play, you have my respect.

I haven't been since we won in Barca 2 1. That's far too long.

            It's not weird though.

When I was a kid the reason I wanted to kick a ball.was because of Kenny Dalglish, a national hero I idolized him. The links between Scotland and Liverpool are massive. Hansen, Souness, Nicol, Gillespie, Wark... Before my time Shankly. So there is a strong fanbase up here, it's just not easy to get to a game.

I guess you are hinting at the out of town support being strange. Look at how many people attended the parade. 750,000 that's not be for a city with a population of 500,000. The reason Liverpool is such a big deal is because of the global support, who understand the ethics and values of the club and the city that provided it.

From what I can see it takes a fair bit of wedge or some connections to get to the game these days.

No I didn't mean weird. Sorry that's my fault. Wrong choice of word. When I lived down south, most of Scotland was nearer to liverpool than i was so I dont think distance is the issue.

I used to get tickets easily enough. The old days of calling non stop meant I got a lot of tickets. From 16 to 29 I went a good 6 to 8 times a season. Now it's hard you're right and I cant really be arsed enough. Like you say other financial commitments.

I'd love to get a couple of games a year.

I'm rambling and just wanted to make clear I wasnt being rude or derogatory towards you.

                No worries

Yeah, I'd love to go more often ( more than once a decade) but I dont even consider it a possibility of getting tickets now we are good. The timing of this trip to Scotland, given my kids have just got into it, and we have just won the CL is perfect.

Just have to continue with the BT sports and Streaming options for now.

                  Dan and Bob

Totally get what you're talking about. Being from Ireland and married and **** it takes an effort to get over for matches.

The missus and myself went to Anfield on our honeymoon. Worst ****in game ever....0-0 against Sunderland!

Since then I've been over with mates but better still with my two boys. Happy days!

Basically lads, enjoy the matches with your loved ones. Life is fleeting.

I'd hope we'd pay for any Schalke fans flights etc if that's the case as I'd imagine they'd have brought quite a lot to see Anfield.

Looks like the Napoli game is selling well. 2 stands appear to be sold out already.
