From what little I know of Brendan, he's apparently a website mini-celebrity in his own mind who aspires to be like his motor-mouth heroes : Dr Cox from Scrubs and Jay from Jay & Silent Bob.

Anyone not taking the view that this summer present a risk of sorts is clearly not thinking things through clearly. A simple check on the success ratio of South American players in the Premiership should give you enough evidence to raise concerns.

that's not to say that the likes of Gonzalez will not make it in the Premiership... you, or I, nor anyone else has any conclusive evidence to suggest anything.. given that the lad has yet to play a competitive game in the Premiership.

You might be right to raise concerns, but then again you're basing it on suspect evidence.... Gonzalez has never played under Benitez or been trained by Benitez and his team. We'll find out soon enough if his game will not adapt to the Premiership.... but for now you're guessing... and guessing's not good enough.

I agree entirely that the lad has been built up too much... that's not his fault... but there's absolutely no getting all negative until the lad has been given a decent chance to settle in. After all, it's quite possible and really more than likely that Gonzalez will take the best part of a season to settle in the Premiership before we see the best.

The concer I would imagine I share with many posters is that some people have far too much impatience and unless the lad delivers immediately he'll get unfairly criticised.
