I guess you confused it with the striker of the pen not being able to touch it again!

I've done way worse...screaming for offside in the Kop when the ball had been played from a goal kick I was 36.
It's class when that happens at the game I've done a few myself.

Normally you realise just as your bum leaves the seat and your arm starts to fly up and the rumble of a yell leaves your belly that you are 100% going up on on your own, so you manage to stop.

    But not always

If it hit his hand, then his foot, bounced up off his head, hit the bar, bounced of his arse then went wide...do you think they would disallow the save?!

Fair enough - I thought he couldn't touch it again

The penalty kick is completed when the ball stops moving, goes out of play or the referee stops play

It was still moving, so he had to stop it going in.

    Just like this

Yeah I don’t think there is a rule on that. Be the same as if the keeper touched the ball deflected off the post, rebounded back and hit the keeper and stayed out, that would be a save.

Surely that would have been noticed at the time, or discussed afterwards? I can't find any reference to it
