Yeah, granted this season would be pretty exciting. I think I've just conditioned myself that the league is less within our reach so. Would like to say the refs in the league cost us too but Ramos on Salah and the Sevilla handball(s) have denied us on the big stage too

These days I want the CL over the league anyway. It's far harder to cheat your way to success, IMO, but the main reason is that it the game is all defining with the feeling of winning it. I'm having difficulty explaining but the league can be won without kicking a ball and it massively detracts from the excitement

We are going to have been ridiculously close in the League with another monumental points haul.

However as in 2019, if we can win the CL, that will become the dominant story over the limited amount of people that care either way if City won the League. More people care that we dont win the League than care that they do.

And if we win the CL the parade will be monumental and we will all forget about the League.

I think it's fair to say the majority wanted to the league. Most certainly trade the league cup and FA Cup and probably the Champions League for number 20.

Lack of excitement more than likely stems from the fact Citeh won the league and steamrollered their last few opponents when a fair few thought they'd slip up.

I think the lack of excitement is more due to every match being a big match for the last few months… as they say, if every match is a big match, then no match is a big match…

Sort of annoying to miss out on the league, but if we win all 3 cups, will be by far the most successful season in my lifetime, won’t be one bit disappointed, even though it would be a little frustrating that we were inches away from the quadruple, and would have been untouchable forever if we got that over the line…

I would trade both league cup and FA cup for the league in a heartbeat, but definitely not the champions league. For me, that’s the big one. The league was bigger for us, when we hadn’t won it for so long, and it’d be nice to get number 20, cos United have 20… but apart from that, the champions league is much bigger, in my opinion.

He’s just come back from the same injury to the same ankle. Was out for 2 weeks with it in April.

Even if he’s got away with damage this time, the ankle is surely going to be too swollen to play on by Saturday?

I'm very excited but it's tempered by a sudden onset of nerves since the Spurs stumble. I also got blind drunk for the Spurs game, can't remember anything about the last 20 minutes, and so I'm thinking about staying completely sober for this game, something I've never done for an LFC cup final in my entire adult life. Unthinkable really.

Try it! Madrid was the first final i've been to/watched sober and i'll never ever forget it. You really take it all in. It's fantastic*

I know Tuchel might be playing games etc but that was a horrible tackle of Kovacic in fairness. I would be very surprised if he's available for Saturday if there's ankle ligament damage. He's a huge player for them in midfield, especially with Kante out and as both have so much pace and energy and always make it difficult in there for us. Even if they do manage to play, they won't be anywhere near 100%. That leaves Jorginho & Loftus-Cheek, both nice ballers but slow the pace down which hopefully lets us do more with the ball in the midfield. Makes me a bit happier since Fab won't be playing.

That’s what they want us to think. Kovacic will be fine imo.
