Liverpool v Chelsea (Wembley) FA Cup Final

I'm very excited but it's tempered by a sudden onset of nerves since the Spurs stumble. I also got blind drunk for the Spurs game, can't remember anything about the last 20 minutes, and so I'm thinking about staying completely sober for this game, something I've never done for an LFC cup final in my entire adult life. Unthinkable really.

Major apprehension is setting in for me for everything now. The whole situation is ludicrous really. Competing for 4 - well maybe 3 - trophies. I worry we're running out of steam. How the **** do you mentally prepare yourself for finals against Chelsea and RM with the season still going? I'm worried we flame out.
2-1
Mane, Diaz - Mount

Two days before our first FA Cup Final for ages. Where's the excitement?

He'll be on the bench then..
But a massive blow for them, especially if Kante is also out.

Kovacic came off injured tonight, him and Kante will most likely be out that's big news, especially that we will be missing Fab.

This, apart from I think Konate will come in for Matip. He’s played every minute of the FA cup run so far, think Klopp has guaranteed him this competition same as he did Kelleher for the League Cup.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
Been a while since we have had one of these. Used to be a massive game, and this feels like a worthy opponent for a big final.
Team seems pretty obvs, dependant on Fabinho injury.
Alisson
Trent
Matip
Virgil
Robbo
Fabinho/Hendo
Thiago
Hendo/Naby
Diaz
Mane
Salah
A fit Bobby would suit this game, maybe a surprise start for him?

Which they can try to get back if they meet us in another LC final.
Cup final grudges do not cross tournament divides or so I have just decided

I think that this is probably it, I don't think he was properly match fit when he came back, probably playing mostly on adrenalin after getting back from injury but needed more time to get back to proper match fitness, also he's still a young player, he has the ability but probably need to develop the tactical side of his game, and where we are at the moment we need players with that tactical awareness.Originally posted by Scratch View PostElliot came back in to the fold at the wrong time for him, when we had a fully fit midfield that functioned well as a unit, at the business end of the season and didn't have room for anyone playing their way back to match fitness. A full pre-season and he will be back in the squad and pushing for a spot in the starting 11, I hope.

We owe them for the 2012 final.

Havertz and Mount are their most attacking threats - but you'd hope we can keep them both quiet with a full strength first team (maybe without Fab)... For some reason, apart from one 5-3 game in the PL in 2020, these games don't tend to produce loads of goals and are cagey, tight affairs.
Oh for a quick start, couple of early goals and we completely tire them out by the end of the first half... well, I can be optimistic for once can't I?

I think Klopp just decided on which 15-16 players are fit and ready enough to finish the season at the level we need and he didn't make the list tbh
