Third XI on now. I dunno who most of them are.
    Modifying post.

The intensity is there from the kids but lacking in the skills still I’d say. Lots of huff but not much puff. 10 out of 10 for effort though cause it’s a big step up for them.

Yeah so it seems. He’s made the runs tonight which is promising.

Nunez looked great vs us and in his two small appearances so far he has looked a big clogger - he smashed the CBs today a few times after they cleared the ball

It's mad even for a big name striker like him the difference a goal makes (even in pre season) - the few chances he had he has snatched at

All over red rover. 2-0 to the good guys. Only downside was the injury to ox.

There’s nothing like an early goal for a new club to settle nerves hey. Just ask Peter Crouch. Wasn’t that 18 games to break his duck?

Yeah hoping Nunez can score pre season just to get that monkey off his back. The pressure of playing for LFC, nevermind the massive fee can be a weight. I didn't see the game but good rotation and nice result. Also, no surprise at all that Ox gets injured, crazy stuff.

That 18 year old keeper Harvey Davies certainly caught the eye too. I’d like to see his highlights reel as he looked more comfortable with the ball at his feet than some outfield players lol. His distribution was first class. And in truth Adrian played well too.

Was wondering who he was. Was pinging passes around like Xabi

Young Liverpool goalkeeper Harvey Davies says making his first-team debut today was a ‘special’ moment.

Davies played half an hour or so after being introduced for the second half in Singapore against Crystal Palace. And speaking to LFCTV after the game, the Scouser couldn’t contain his happiness.

“It was really special for me,” said a delighted Davies. “Obviously it was nice to make my debut here in Singapore in front of all these fans. My family will be proud of me, I’ll never forget this.”

Davies didn’t have too much to do as Liverpool ran out comfortable 2-0 winners. But he did well with the ball at his feet, one lofted pass into Naby Keita a particular highlight.

Pre-season can often be the time when a young star makes a name for himself and pushes into the first-team.

If there’s one position at Liverpool where this is impossible to happen, it’s the goalkeeper. That isn’t due to a lack quality from Davies, or Fabian Mrozek, who also got some minutes after saving a Mo Salah penalty in training.

Rather, there’s simply no getting past Alisson Becker. Davies could have made a string of top quality saves and he’d still be far away from taking the Brazilian’s number one spot.

At some point, that must bring a certain amount of demotivation. But for Davies and Mrozek, the chance to learn and train from someone like Alisson must be a dream come true.

Unfortunately, it looks as though we may be missing our brilliant goalie for the time being. Jurgen Klopp confirmed yesterday that Alisson has taken a knock, and before the game described it as ‘not cool’ via liverpoolfc.com.

Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious. With Caoimhin Kelleher also injured, Davies could end up being a lot closer than expected to the first-choice position.

On this evidence, he would take on the challenge manfully. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, but Davies will have enhanced his reputation after a good little cameo. Congratulations Harvey on an excellent debut!

Next up is Leipzig on Thursday. Nkunku seems to be their main goal threat & Gulasci is their 2nd longest ever serving player with 272 appearances for them.

                        Probable teams

Leipzig: Gulacsi (c) – Simakan, Orban, Halstenberg – Mukiele, Laimer, Schlager, Angelino – Olmo – Nkunku, Sorloth
                        Doubtful: Silva (flu)
                        Out: Gvardiol (thigh), Poulsen (adductor)
                        Coach : Domenico Tedesco

Liverpool: Adrian – Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson – Henderson (c), Fabinho, Thiago – Salah, Nunez, Diaz
                        Doubtful: Gomez (knock)

That would be a very strong starting XI if it comes to me. Just Alisson away from being potentially our strongest line up.

Just up we are getting some of the knocks and minor injuries out of the way in preseason what with Alisson, Kelleher, Jota and Gomaz all injured.

And before anyone says I forgot Chamberlain. No I did not. I tend to assume he is way back in the pecking order regardless of whether he is fit or not. Guy has had such an unlucky career with injuries.

                                Strong line up.

Also Nunez clearly dropped as he had been so ****.
