Matip, Hendo & Nunez imo.

Quite possibly. Konate often seems to give an opportunity to opposition strikers like he did here again when he knocked the ball back into a dangerous area. Matip doesn’t make many mistakes at all. Small margins might see Joel get the nod. I think Naby did pretty well & seemed much more vocal which comes with confidence. Bobby also did well I though too.

Think against Fulham it will be Konate, Henderson and Nunez.

Do not think Firmino is in contention for a starting place unless Nunez picks up a knock or illness before August 6th.

The other pairings listed you could pick either guy and not see a drop off in the quality of the starting XI.

The only wildcard imo would be if one of Carvalho or Elliot impress enough between now and the Fulham game and turn the midfield question into

Keita or Henderson or Carvalho or Elliot or Barella or Nunes

Though if we do not see Alisson or Kelleher getting a proper run out before the final whistle in the Community Shield, then it may well be Adrian starting the season for us.

I’m with Rudedog here on his reasoning of starting old trusty Bobby & Darwin against tired legs. I suggested that before this match but also said Nunez might get the start if he started banging in the goals, which he certainly did in style.

My logic for Bobby starting is that Nunez will be more effective against tired legs and it will also take a bit of the pressure away from Nunez.

And what did you all think of Stefan Bajcetic ? Looks a talent doesn’t he. Jurgen always gets a youth player to step up in preseason & blow us all away. Most would never have heard of him a month ago & now he’s helped set up Nunez’s 4th goal.

I love watching these Inside Training vids on LFCTVGO. The camaraderie is so good to watch. Diaz is such a skilful player, right up there with Thiago it seems.

If There was to be a surprise, I’d say Carvalho in for Thiago but I don’t think that will happen.

I would be shocked if anyone in our team could get into CM ahed of a fully fit Thiago tbh.

Him and Fabinho are must starts in the middle for me when fully fit.

Yea so I don’t think it’s going to happen but you won’t see Carvalho in for Henderson either. He’s been played on the left side all pre season and i don’t think he’s an 8. I think if he comes on though it will be wide left or left in the central 3.

I think it will depend on who we are playing - against bus parkers, I can see a midfield three of Fabinho + 2 from Thiago, Elliot and Carvalho being a great option for unlocking the door. Combined with the forward forays from Trent and Robbo I’m hoping we now have genuine creativity to support the front three.

You can see how the drills are second nature for the likes of Bobby and Mo and confusing af for Darwin Nunez. Will take time for him to learn the movement that is expected of him, patience will pay off (instead we get judgements in the first week of preseason)

Did similar last year too, two games in consecutive days 1 week before season started.
