He was not renowned for his passing as well. Heard that’s one of the things he needs to improve on. He won’t start the season, Bobby will I think and we are going to be patient with him.

To be fair most strikers are average passers and usually score poorly in terms of pass completion.
Just had a look at the passing stats for Darwin for last season and he is about on the same level as Haaland for pass completion and also in terms of the type of passes both attempted.
Interestingly even though both are quite average when ovrall passing stats are looked at (70% completion rate for Haaland over the course of a season vs 67% for Darwin over a season), Darwin actually scores quite well (for a striker) when it comes to key passes as in ones that create a chance, assists or secondary assist, and he scored better for those than Haaland did.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He's played about 120mins of football in preseason, getting used to his teammates, a different formation/style of play, language, getting physically flogged everyday between games in training and has scored 4 goals in one game.
People are mental.
Start worrying after 6+ mths and he still hasn't fit in."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

I'm not worried about him not fitting in long term at all.
I think he is going to turn out to be a very good signing and in the coming seasons be key to changing both the focus and style of how we attack.
Think from a supporter pov people will have to get used to having a guy who is there to be the sharp end of the attack and less there to be a creator/supplier.
All crap evolution puns aside, I think he has been bought to be an upgrade on what we were doing with using Jota as a number nine.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah you have to keep evolving as a side. Having a centre forward that scores goals, makes decisive runs and gets into dangerous positions against low block sides is going to be great for us.... as that is what most teams will do when they play us. When you have two world class wing backs, having a fox in the box, we could do real damage.
We don't have many goals coming from midfielder either, that imo is another issue we need to address and with the links to Bellingham.. it seems that is what we are trying to do that. I would have loved to see that happen this season, especially with Manes goals gone but it doesn't seem likely.

Also a lot of the time, especially last 2 games he’s been playing with mostly the B team (or C team). As klopp said himself, would have been interesting to see what he’d have done if he was on the pitch the last half an hour the other day, when we were creating all the chances.
That suggests to me that he’ll be introduced gradually and the starting front 3 against Fulham will be Diaz, Firmino, Salah. If he scores a few from the bench, won’t take him long to establish himself as a starter…I don't tip

Not sure Bellingham would be that goal threat from midfield tbh. Fabinho had a better goal return for us last season than Bellingham had for Dortmund.
Then again Bellingham is very young and not quite moulded into any one CM role as of yet so could well be that he becomes that kind of player.
As for Mane's goals, think Diaz and Darwin will cover that between them this season with goals to spare. I hope anyway.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

6 Goals 14 Assists in all comps is a massive threat from midfield, especially for one so young. That type of production from our midfield would be very welcomeOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostNot sure Bellingham would be that goal threat from midfield tbh. I think he is a good player, but I dont see goalscoring as being an issue for us in anyway. We are close enough to perfect. There is just another team out there who are winning 1 point more than whatever we can do in a season.
The midfield have jobs to do. What I do like about Bellingham is his potential. How good he already is and how good he could become.Modifying post.

Did not see his assist output on the site I looked at. Did not think he had as many as 14 assists last season. That is impressive alright.

I think it's about having players that can score from different areas, we've been relying so heavily on Mo and Mane for years now with assists from Trent & Robbo. Virg, Matip and Fab have chipped in last season too. For me it's good to have goals coming from different areas in the park, especially in that central attacking area, just gives opposition yet another thing to worry about when playing us. We have an amazing side, a goal scoring/assist making CM would top it off.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI think he is a good player, but I dont see goalscoring as being an issue for us in anyway.
