Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Seeing as it's all seemingly went quiet on the CB front, I wonder if there is any chance we could see Bajcetic moved back if needed.
I've never seen him play as CB before, so way trying to find some info to see if he could be used as a LCB in the new system and found this interesting.
Alex Otero, youth football co-ordinator at Celta, told The Athletic in January 2021. “It was clear he was a standout player in his age group. He can really play and help construct attacks but he is also noticeable for his comfort with his left and right foot and the ability to play on the right or left of the centre-backs. That is quite rare."
I'd be surprised if he ever played there ahead of Robbo or Tsimikas, but if we were forced to play a right footed CB there at some stage, I wonder if he could come into the picture? In the absence of Trent, could he even play a similar role to Stones? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Nah we would need a massive injury crisis to even consider doing that imo.
Do not think he has close to the physicality needed for that role as of yet.
Think we will bring in a defender this window but late - ish in the window as any CB we bring in will be able to take time during the start of teh season to settle in as will not need to be rushed into the team.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He's a big enough lad and does he need to be that physical to play as a 3rd CB, especially alongside Virg?Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostNah we would need a massive injury crisis to even consider doing that imo.

I was pretty confident we would get Colwill in, until the Fofana injury. It's worryingly a bit quiet on the CB front now (which of course isn't unusual for us).
I hope we don't see him there, I don't really even want him as DM, would prefer him unleashed further forward, but if we find ourselves in another crises, as we often do, Klopp has often said he prefers to 'find a solution within the squad'. He'd probably be a better option that Fab and Hendo were, even if Fab had some excellent games. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Depends on whether you mean the VVD from last season or the ones from earlier seasons though.
As for Bajcetic being a better option now in the CB role than what prime Fabinho was in it? Not a chance in my eyes. That version of Fabinho was still a world class defensive player who had covered at both RB and CB for Monaco in the past. Bajcetic is a talented teen with none of that experience or quality...yet.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He may have lost some pace and allowed some errors to creep into his game, but he's still physically strong and still one of the most dominant CB's aerially in the league last year.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostDepends on whether you mean the VVD from last season or the ones from earlier seasons though.

Don't disagree with the points you make, but also think from reading other posts that we are at different places with how we view Bajcetic. I know you cautiously rate him highly, but I'm already completely sold and think we could drop him in any position and he'll be class.
And I never rate our young players highly or get carried away...

Put me down for the Bajcetic hype train.
I think I'm on the same page as both of you though. Best keep him in midfield and regardless, he's a bit of growing to do so I hope we don't have to rely on him anywhere next season tbh. I wouldn't want to overuse him when he's only 18 going on 19 and when he's filling out he could suffer from growing pain injuries during his development. What a ceiling the kid has, though.

They can play all cup games and sub appearances. Thats without the inevitable injuries.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostI DO think we need to leave a pathway for Baj - and Curtis and Harv - that allows him to develop this season and the more new players we buy the more difficult that could prove.
I think even bringing in LAvia and 1 more they would still get plenty of minutes_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

Not as the solution before all the ‘end of the wordlists’ get up in arms
But it is easy to forget how good this lad was last season, our best player over a dismal run. If we saw this clip and it was another player at Soton or Brighton say, we’d be up for signing him. As mentioned we really need a run of games and a breakout season from him (and another signing).
