No disgrace in only fishing 4th, but losing so many games is bad.
What is the real issue is the piss poor style of play and the lack of fight and aggression shows the main players have lost the love to play for this manager.

Liverpool have conceded 70+ goals in a single season (all competitions) for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign, and for only the 18th time in the club's 134-year history

And 19 loses in all competitions. Wasn’t the record 18 for a season since the turn of the century or was it 20.
Still to play Villa away and Brentford and Chelsea at home.

Pep - Man City also won all their games but they beat Arsenal in doing so

That's absolute bull**** I can only think of a handful of English U21 players who play regularly in the PL. All it does is drive down quality as it is likely that that player will be the weakest in the starting 11 or drive up prices of really good U21 players (assuming in this context HG means association trained), but as you always have to have one player fitting that criteria on the pitch you probably need at least 3 or 4 players in that category who are good enough to play. For us that would mean one of Ngumoha, Nyoni, Danns or McConnell on the pitch at all times. Also if those players are just about passable you keep them around or involved while they meet the criteria, then their value and opportunities likely drop significantly as soon as they don't as you likely have better players who will take their place and you have to find another youngster who fits criteria. A really dumb idea for me, but as FIFA is run by idiots...Originally posted by peterbread View PostThought I’d put this here instead of the general chat because it mentions Liverpool and also how would it affect the club. And why are FIFA interfering with club football now.
[Martyn Ziegler] - FIFA plan for every professional club to be obliged to have at least one homegrown u21 player on the pitch at all times. Liverpool have included an English U21 player in just two of their Premier League starting line-ups this season, the third lowest in the league.
Does this mean a player that’s been in the academy for a certain amount of time or just a player who’s homegrown in terms of the country and is u-21. Do foreign players that have been here since a young age and count as home grown like Frimpong count, if he was an u-21 player still.
Add in what it means in terms of subs and who you have on the bench if you take that player off.
Seems a ridiculous idea.
I don’t see how this will help the young players by forcing clubs to play them and it will also add to the silly transfer fees for English players that we already see.
