It always seems to me that FIFA is envious of the money in the European leagues and that they always try to get a bigger slize of the pie for their International Fixtures. They are always coming up with new ideas of reducing number of games in domestic leagues and European competitions to have more room for their fixtures like internationals and world club competions.

Blatter always strikes me as just someone who "wants to leave his mark" on the game.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Trouble is, it's usually a big brown skid mark.
          Oh I don't know.

World Cup and Euro's would be mid season when players are at their peaks rather than after a long season. Would work better for the lower league teams with no games being called off for frozen pitch etc.

I like the idea of footy through the summer, but the winters would be proper ****.

I like having the free weekends from May to August, when the weather is meant to be nice, so leave it as it is I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mr Deegame* is in a wheelchair, and going on the experiences of best mate, who's in the same position, it's ****in freezin come January/ February watching a game cos she can't move about like the rest of us.

                        a) totally meaningless International friendlies
                        b) totally meaningless International qualifiers which include teams as San Marino, Moldovia etc (no offense to any residents of these countries)
                        c) have rounds in International qualifiers like in the CL where **** teams basically have to qualify to play against seeded, better teams

Sometimes you really do wonder about these thickos.

It's all about money. More Internationals mean more money for FIFA. European Football is the most profitable Football. That's why Blatter wants to increase FIFA's cut of that pie.

Remember how the players complained about the weather in Germany 2006?

Blatter is an idiot. Time he retired

I would personally prefer games during the summer. I'm sure some foreigners who don't like the idea of coming to England because of the weather would also change their mind.

                              I think it was a German journalist who said;
"Blatter has 50 ideas a day, and 51 of them are bad"
