    Pennant, Gonzalez and Bellamy

I am really happy how these guys have been playing recently, I think that since the court case Bellers has been on top form but I would like to see him with Crouch on Tuesday, I mean Kuyt hasn't played his best football for the last couple of games so needs a rest. Gonzalez, I don't know what has happened to him recently but whatever has happened he needs to keep it up. Also Pennant got a lot of stick on these forums some deserved but a lot of it wasn't, and he has been really good for the past three or four games. So do any of you think that these three player will be able to keep the form up for the rest of the season?
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

the major criticism of us in the last 2 years has been lack of pace up front. bellers brings that but for off the field reasons hes been below par. its no coincidence that were getting some momentum now his case has finished.

but hes been excellent in my view. a tireless worker and trier. hell score a hatful in the rest of the season

also a real talent and another with the pace weve lacked in the last 2 years. froze embarrassingly at old toilet but young and talented enough to be a first 11 regular in a title-winning side.

i actually agree with the "morons" referred to above. Pennant is a different case to gonzalez - hes playing in a league hes been in for some time. he should be better adapted. hes quite a talented player but we will we need someone better in that wide right position if we want to win the league.

Bellamy I always thought would be a good signing and is now showing what I thought we'd get, shame its taken 3 months for him to find his form.

Gonzalez was always a rough diamond who has every chance of comming good and is improving rapidly

Pennant, worse signing since Diao, I can pay him no higher compliment

I would not play Bellamy. He is injury proon and may not cope to play to many games in a short time.

The last thing we need right now is Bellamy to get injured because he is our only quick attacking option.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

there haven't been many players bought since diao that we can call a bad buy but i can still name 3 that are worse than Pennant in terms of quality. pellegrino, josemi, nunez, now i know we paid more for pennant than we did for those 3 together. so if we talk about money spent on transfers than yes maybe pennant is the worst since 5,5 mill diao, but he is still 10 times the player diao is, and i find it comforting that the worst transfer deal in over 2 years has been pennant, witch all tough he not been great, he a good adition to our squad and gives us options.

about a year ago the same arguments were used against crouch, i will admit it i was one of the haters but i didn't get as carried away as many others, a year ago he was considered to be the worst signing, 18 games and no goal, what a striker eh? i wasn't untill later when he got his goal, and boosted his confidence that most of us started to notice what he did for the team and it wasn't just scoring goals...

now i'm not saying that pennant will come as good as crouch did, but he might, most people on here, thought crouch was rubbish and most think pennant is, give the lad a break...

                    Oh how I laughed

I think everyone will get rested for at least one of the Xmas games, a couple of defenders excepted.

Thanks for telling us that Rafa
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

The difference with Crotch though is that during his mahoosive goal drought he was doing other valuable things for the team which meant he could just about justify his place in the side. Pennant was brought in to create chances - he is not doing that but he is also not doing a lot else.

Don't get me wrong, I am not in the get Pennant out as quickly as possible camp, however, if he doesn't start to fulfill his immense promise next season, then he should be shown the door. I am sad to say that I think he will never fulfill his potential.

i agree with you on the matter, but what i was pointing out was that last season before crouch got accepted, people wouldn't recognize his other valuable doings for the team it wasn't untill he started scoring and around the new year that people started to accept him for what he was. a whilst pennant has had games wear he has done ok, and in one or two set up a goal and played well, but people won't give them credit for that, i for one don't think he's good enough but he's not the utter ****e people refer him to be...
