Speedy how old are you because if you think Pennant is the worst ever you really can't be more that say 10. Pennant has problems but to say he is the worst after half a season shows you to be blinded by hatred. Go back and look at Ferri, Torben Picnichead, Babb, Carter, Clough, Diouf, Diao, Cheyrou etc etc.

Cut Pennant some slack at least. We won.....again!

I don't think it's a coincidence that our recent good run coincided with all those injuries.
The question is why did Rafa rotate too much (in terms of getting results)? Is it (a) he's not a very good manager and didn't recognize that a settled team would achieve better results and so we have been fortunate that Fate has forced him into it or (b) the players weren't fit, needed rest, needed to be handled carefully to avoid picking up long-term injuries...

      What do you reckon?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

        3. Bellamy is turning out to be a great buy, the lad has passion.

        4. Agger will be world class when he gets a bit stronger

5, Is Anfield the new Library.

        6. The new addidas top is the best top ever.

This is a good Liverpool team, shame about the **** start.
1 yesterday Pepe punched every ball out and against that no17 nearly knocking him into tommorow somes times.

2 - but both score great goals and great songs

        3- yep

4 - Agger was against big players yeaterday and didn't see him put a foot wrong

5 - start singing then! I do so does most around me

6 - makes me look thin well less fat than the others so yes

7 Pennant - did some good stuff but has lost the fans, could be usefull to the team with a bit of confidence
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

You don't think he's been more subdued and less involved than usual? I'm certain of it. I think Rafa's idea of a CM is different than what we would like to see Stevie doing. He's definitely been WAY too defensive for my liking. The assist aside he wasn't involved.

Indeed I think Xabi got forward almost as much as he did.

Ruben Barraja was constantly on the scoresheet for Belenthia when Rafa was there so how come Stevie is more subdued (if we're likening Xabi to David Albelda)?
I deffo agree with your assertion that Stevie is not as dynamic when playing alongside Xabi. Can't understand why.
Put 3 at the back - 2 holding cm's and play Stevie in front and then watch him go. He'd be sensational.

A bit of both, but i'm not saying rafa's not a good manager, just I think he made a few mistakes in trying to bed so many new players in at the start of the season. if we had continued with the team that finished last season, and just maybe switched in Kuyt and Bellers, or maybe even just Kuyt, I think we would have been better off.

But there's no doubting that we've had to wait for the return to form of the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, Carra, Reina which Rafa could do nothing about. I hope the lack of an international tournament this summer means we can hit the ground running next season. If we cock up again then some questions will start to be asked.

When Stevie plays with Alonso in the middle, he cant play his attacking game as he needs to defend deeper than he does with Momo in the middle

                    Completely disagree.
Momo is much more all over the place than Alonso.
Alonso is more positionally diciplined and allows his midfield partner more freedom to attack.

Agree on 352, that'll get all our best players in their preferred positions on the park. We need quality wing backs for that, they become absolutely crucial as all width comes from them. Maybe Fabio can handle the left (jury is still out though) but we don't have a decent right sided wing back. Maybe this is why Rafa wanted Alves so badly.

It'll be interesting to see how the shape and tactics evolve over the next season and a half.

I sort of disagree. He's subdued because he's playing in the middle in the way that Rafa wants his CMs to play. Essentially as DMs first and foremost with the odd forward run thrown in as and when.

This role is too restrictive for SG. It's a waste of his wonderful attacking talents.

That is the only drawback IMO. The rest of the team simply falls into place.

1: I think Pepe is the best keeper we have had since Brucie, who also had a flappin problem.
2: Garcia gives the ball away a lot because he always shows for it and gets a lot of possession which he trys to be inventive with, deal with it, he is often the missing link inour team which is why he still plays despite the moronic crowd reaction. Riise just cant ****in pass the ball, but the crowd love him cos he bangs a couple in every season.
3: He's Welsh what did you expect, every great Liverpool team has a Welshman in it.
4: Agger is looking like an inspired signing end of
5: Anfield is quiet because opposition teams do not want an entertaining match, listen to the atmos against Arsenal, Chelsea, Barce, Man U and even the Blue****e as they will turn up to play.
6: I like the home kit but 84 was my fave, both of our second shirts this year are awful.
