I don't believe there actually are any "insiders" personally. The only real people that would know are Rafa, Parry and a select few who are involved in the transfer themselves. Also Rafa might discuss with someone like Gerrard and ask for his thoughts, but will he go up to Stevie and say I am we have offered so and so for Kuyt and give him up to the minute details etc? I doubt it.

However there are people that would hear whispers down the grapevine and when they eventually get posted on the net we have to take them with a pinch of salt. Even if true at the time, we all know that things can change in a second in Football. Even Rafa himself could tell us his targets etc and he'd be wrong as to who exactly we get until its done or close to done.

Lecter: His source gets some things right and some things wrong. Lecter posts them in good faith though. Lecter as a poster on forums seems very knowledgable about football in general and has had a season ticket on the Kop for many years. He knows about LFC and it's players and if I want an informed opion on LFC, he is a good source.

As for Kowt, he has a lot to live up to if he does arrive here, I fear it might be a bit too much for the lad, he's being built up as a goal scoring genius.

to be fair they probably do but the story is probably rubbish. there was a link to a barcodes fan site and it was "an insider" who had posted that a bid would be made and accepted on monday.

as i said probaly rubbish but it wouldn't surprise me if they paid £20,000,000 for him. lol.

Thing is though, the barcodes took a loan out to pay for Owen, I know this as -FACT

They spent a bit on Duf, 5 million, but I don't reckon they've got more than 10 million bones left for this season's budget. They still owe 17 million bones for Owen.

it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they took a loan out to sign owen. it wouldn't surprise me if fat freddy happened to do the same for "kowt".

if they have another poor season then they must surely be facing financial meltdown similar to leeds.

They did take out a loan for Owen for the full amount, the money Real owed them was used to pay for other players.
Fat Freddie is a very rich man but he can only stretch it so far. I think with Roedder, they are in big trouble.

Thing I can't get my head around is why, Martin O'Neil has gone to Villa and not to a club like Newcastle....

                      Geography allegedly.

He wants to stay in the Midlands with his sick wife and Geordieland was considered too far away. Same for Boro.

Fair enough - you'd have thought that in a three club race between Villa, Newcastle, and Boro, Villa would come third.

It'll be interesting how he gets back to grips with the EPL - he's had six years away after all. That is a long time in Football time. We had Rigobert Song playing for us after all.....

So take the information for what it is - somebody's opinion. These aren't guarantees.
Our friend Maestro pointed us towards Kuyt a short while ago - and whilst it hasn't happened (yet) - it was posted in good faith and should be received in the same manner. Let's not start a witch hunt when somebody passes on information - it invariably leads to them stopping posting.

Regarding Kuyt - I'm more confident of him signing now that Rafa has spoken publicly about the need for another striker.

I've never heard of Lecter before, but the way Dunk's aliases...opps...'insiders' just keep cropping up everywhere and turning in stories that are so blatantly made up is an absolute farce.

Lecter always seemed to me, to be a guy that knew his stuff regarding football, and always gave a salient opinion, but didn't have any insider knowledge - then all of a sudden, he seemed to get some contact which enabled him to post 'insider' knowledge.

It's obvious to me that all the leaks that might have occured during Houllier's reign have long since been plugged.

I was told that there were a number of genuine insiders (none of them associated with Duncan Oldham) with strong contacts at KT during the Houllier era, but that pretty much dissipated when Benitez came in.
