He's rather slow, his first touch isn't the best and he isn't particularly mobile.

I haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to evaluate him properly, but those are my impressions. If Rafa thinks he'll do a good job for us, that's good enough for me. He usually gets it right.
i think he'd settle in well to be fair. he has a few bad points but, to be fair, the good far outwiegh the bad.

Yeah, but does he score goals?

Personally I've seen him a decent amount and he's deceptively quick and I've never had an issue with his touch. And immobility? Not buying it.

Not Premiership strong and not particularly strong on the ball, in leagues - La Liga and Le Championnat, where you get time on the ball. You're not shut down immediately like you are in the Premiership.

Naturally I hope I'm wrong regarding any deficiencies Kuyt may have and, as I said, I've not really seen too much of him.

The main worry I have is the pace issue. I'm nitpicking really but say we buy Kuyt - of the four strikers only Bellamy possesses the pace we need to stretch teams. If he's injured or, more likely, suspended, then we're struggling for pace up front.

I do hope he's deceptively quick.

that's a fair point but he hardly looked weak against chelsea in the CL semi-final a few years ago.

he's not as quick as bellamy but i wouldn't say he was as slow as crouch or robbie. i could be wrong though because i've only seen him play a full game a handful of times.

I've got a nagging doub about Kuyt too but I am also not an officianardo. I've seen him probably half a dozen times on Ch5 and playing for the Dutch in the world cup.
I think it's his perceived lack of pace that bothers me too. His movement seemed good but his perceived lack of pace allows defenders to close him down.
I hope Rafa gets his first choice signing and if that is Kuyt then all well and good. Lets hope he shines.

I rate Kuyt highly. He's the perfect Rafaplayer. He's not slow, but not very quick either. His workrate is brilliant, works his socks off. And most importantly, he's a goalscorer. I really hope we sign this guy.

I haven't seen enough of Kuyt to comment really, what I will say is that I don't think we'll sign him until we're guarunteed the CL group stages.

Kuyt is a very good player for a decent team. Once he's signed for LFC he'll be even better. With better players around him such as Gerrard, Alonso and Fowler he will improve.
